Inspiration
Living in a college apartment with your buddies is a blast, but it comes with its own sitcom-worthy problem: the never-ending tab. From picking up dinner to buying movie tickets or bailing out a friend with a wallet emergency, keeping track of who owes what is like trying to count jellybeans in a jar blindfolded. It's all fun and games until your wallet goes on a vacation!
What it does
Yuome is a web-app that keep in track of your friends tabs and your tabs to your friends. No need for complicated sign-ups; just toss in your phone number, and you're good to go! With yuome, you can effortlessly ping your pals with SMS reminders about how you bought them McDonald's two years ago . So, say goodbye to those awkward IOU moments!
How we built it
We used React.js, Next.js, PostgreSQL, and Vercel to produce and deploy our web-app! We also use Clerk and Twilio for certain app services, such as authentication.
Challenges we ran into
On the front end, we ran into many challenges. Much of them dealt with grabbing and parsing data from the back-end, presenting it to the user in multiple methods.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Everything!
What we learned
How to connect database with the front end logins.
What's next for yuome
Changing it from a web-app to an app. Expending payment options.
