Inspiration
We were looking to make an app that would make students' lives easier. After a bit of brainstorming, we came up with the idea of making study session hubs that students could set up and allow other students to join. All images belong to their rightful owners!!
What it does
As of now, the main functionality is the ability to create study sessions initialized with user input as well as the ability to look at other active study sessions.
How we built it
We used Vue.js for our front end and Python Flask for our back end.
Challenges we ran into
This was our first venture into web development, so we did not know where to start. We tried out a couple of different frameworks and scrapped our project many times. It was challenging to set up our environments and learn completely new technologies.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to connect our front end to our back end and have a working website to display.
What we learned
We learned many things about web development. Particularly things about HTTP protocols and API connections. We definitely came out understanding much more about web development than we thought and are excited to continue learning.
What's next for ZotBuddy
We'll continue to develop and work on ZotBuddy, with our next steps being to complete our envisioned functionalities that we were not able to work on.
Built With
