This journal was specifically started for me to post my fanfic... and I hope the muses will continue to provide me with enough inspiration to continue writing for some time. However, it has transformed a bit, and lot of other postings are being made, not just my fic. So, I think it's time to make this a friends only journal.

My fic and icon entries will be still be available to the public.

I meant to write this yesterday after I got home late in the afternoon after my appointment, but I laid down and that was all she wrote--I was out like a light. I shouldn't be surprised since I haven't been sleeping too well recently.

I went back to the radiologists for a sonogram to follow-up on what was found on my mammogram on March 30th. After the tech did the sonogram she told me to wait while she took the results to the doctor to check and see if they were going to do another actual mammogram or not. The doctor came in and sat down. He asked if could do an exam to physically check what he was seeing on the scan. He asked me a number of questions and then, surprisingly, gave me my results. He told me I do not have breast cancer! :D

I honestly thought I have to wait until sometime next week until my primary called with the results. So I was very relieved and thankful for this doctor to be so frank with me. :D Anyway, it turns out that I don't even have a lump in my breast tissue. What the scan found and what I can feel is actually a thickening of the skin in that particular spot. While he's not completely sure what's caused it, he did say he had no reason to believe it anything more than simple edema. However, in an over abundance of cautiousness, he's recommending that my primary send me to a dermatologist simply to ensure there's nothing to worry about.

I have to give the doctor credit. He took his time explaining what he found on the scans and his thought processes in his conclusions. He was professional, informative, and made sure all my questions were answered. He never once made me feel I was taking up too much of his time, and even said I could call him anytime if I had questions. He made what could have been a stressful situation very non-stressful.

I know, I know! It's once again been a quite a while since I've posted anything. So, I've snertched this meme from trobadora (over on DW) since it looked like fun.

1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment.

2) Ask your f-list to post questions in the comments. For example:
"One, nine, and fifteen are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from four. Do they succeed?"
"Under what circumstances might five and fourteen fall in love?"
"Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?"

3) After your f-list has stopped asking questions, round them up and answer them using the fifteen characters you selected beforehand, then post them.


I have my list saved; 15 characters from 11 fandoms. (I might have included one favorite original character.) So have it, folks. I'm looking forward to this!

Well, I'm way behind on my Snowflake Challenges because I haven't been on my computer in over a week! So it's time for a little catch up.

I really wish I have the talent and energy to write the AU version of Stargate that's been bouncing around in my head for a few years. It covers at least the first 8 seasons, gives different background stories and relationships for most of the main characters, and adds in some original characters.

Well, I was going to pass on this one, since my Muse has been missing in action. But then I decided instead of trying to write something, I'd make some icons. I used to make icons on a regular basis, and I miss doing them. I haven't made and posted icons in so long. I'm really rusty, so I just made some text icons. I actually posted them at my icon comm color_piratesin THIS POST. Maybe this will get me started in posting icons again. :)

This one is so easy! Whispered Promises and it's sequel Coming Apart At The Seams by Pink Rabbit Productions has some of the best writing and characterizations I've read anywhere of Sam and Janet, but especially of Janet. I can't count how many times I've read these fics. I've downloaded them onto my Kindle so I can play them whenever I'm in the mood. This series will always be a favorite of mine!

Challenge #4

In your own space, make a list of things that you wish existed in fandom or elsewhere, and/or that you'd like someone to create or do for you.

I really wasn't sure what I wanted to put down as my wish list this year, but then I realized this is really tied into my previous entry. Since I'm seriously working on editing my finished novel, what I'd really like is a few cheerleaders and a couple more accountability folks. People to help me stay on task with the editing. I don't know how long the editing will take, but it is the one majoy project I'm working on right now.

And once I get the initial editing done, I'm going to need some heavy duty beta readers. I know my primary beta will be game, and she's tough, just the way I need her to be. But I can always use more than one viewpoint and opinion.

For those of you who don't know, my novel Rare Vintage is a rewritten version of an X-Files fanfic. It's a case fic with a touch of the supernatural. So if there are any of you who care to help me keep my nose to grindstone as I edit, or become a beta reader, please let me know.

Challenge #3

In your own space, put some favorite characters into an AU, fuse some favorite canons together, talk about your favorite AU/fusion tropes, or tell us why AU/fusions aren’t your cup of tea.

Well, I wish I had one of my many WiP's done so I could post it for this challenge. It's a crossover/fusion/AU that has Scully joining the SGC and becoming involved with Janet Fraiser. *VBG* It's a story that's been rattling around in my head for a few years now and I blame the plot bunny on a friend who commented that as much I love both Scully and Janet I should pair them up sometime. I still intend to finish that story at some point. *G*

I don't have a problem with crossovers or AU's or AR's. Stargate is fertile ground for alternate realities as it is, and just about anything possible in alternate realities. I enjoy reading a well written alternate universe/alternate reality fic.

I didn't really need to do much for this first challenge. I just updated a couple of sentences on my Welcome sticky post and in my profile. I've been around long enough that those of you who know me already know my fandoms, and I haven't changed much over the past few years. ;)

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.

My biggest goals for this year are to finally edit my novel Rare Vintage so I can send it to some beta readers... and possibly a publisher. There, I actually said it out loud, or rather, in print. *shudders* And to participate in NaNo again this year. Those are the big ones.
