Technical Support, etc.

Why can't I understand the technical support people?

Every time I call the HP Technical Support I have to repeat everything I say 2 or 3 times. Then they must repeat everything they say because I can't understand them. It has become quite frustrating! My HP notebook had to be restored because the wireless card needed reset. So, I had to talk to Tech Support and they kept asking me to call back after a long process would occur. I spoke with 6 different people and each time everything I said had to be repeated over and over.

So, my thought is that perhaps our companies should bring the Tech Support jobs back to the US because I'm sure it cost a ton of money just for my conversation!

Very frustrated!

Facebook & Reminiscing

I have been playing on Facebook a lot lately. It is interesting to see what people from high school are doing now. I have been wondering who will my kids be reminiscing about when they are older. They will not have a high school yearbook or old elementary school class pictures to thumb through to remember what everyone looked like. So, do we make a "yearbook" every year for them to remember what they did that school year? Or just hope those pictures jump into the scrapbooks all on their own. If you homeschool what do you do for your kids? And if you don't what do you suggest short of putting them in school.

Blogs

Today I let Rebecca and Laura each create a blog. They are both very exited about having their own blogs. They think it is like being on Facebook and that their followers are friends. Our goal is for them to update their Blogs at least once a week. Rebecca has added a poll and a game to her blog. Laura is still trying to decide what template she would like and all of the rest. If you have go check out their blogs.

Back to Normal

Life is getting back to normal. We started back to school today! Laura was so excited. She couldn't wait to get started. Things went very smoothly for us. Things should be better tomorrow after adjusting our time schedule.

Cub Scouts was cancelled because of freezing rain. But we still had cheer pictures.

Here are my shots while pictures were being taken.

Here is Laura.

New Year

I didn't do a very good job last year of keeping this up-to-date. So, we will endeavor to do better this year!

School starts for the new year in 7 ½ hours. I should be getting to bed soon.

Here are some goals for this new year, 2009:
- Have a stress free school year
- Keep our activities to a minimum (the extra activities not school activities)
- Purge unused items in the house
- Clean out the garage (again)
- Lay tile in the laundry room
- Lay tile in the master bathroom
- Remove the carpet from living room and hallway replace with some type of wood flooring
- Replace the downstairs windows
- Add a deck to the back of the house (wishful thinking but it can’t hurt)
- Take a family vacation (Legoland Chicago? American Girl Chicago? See a theme here?)

Here is what we accomplished in 2008:
- Angelique graduated
- Refinanced the house
- Termite contract (the neighbor had termites eating his house)
- Fixed all three cars (tires on all three and a/c on van)
- New windows upstairs
- Back door fixed
- Cleaned out garage
- Fixed Twizzler’s leg (story for another time)
- New dryer
- Digital Thermostat
- Dryer Vent Man cleaned out the verrrryyy loooonnngg vent pipe
- Laura and I attended an awesome homeschool convention in Cincinnati
- I'm sure many other things that I am forgetting this late at night.

I hope everyone has a productive new year. We are going to try to have one!
