Grandpa Madsen

September 22nd, 2010 My Grandpa lost his battle to Pancriatitis, It was truly one of the hardest days of my life! My Grandpa was like a 2nd Dad to me, I grew up going up to his house every weekend and spending summer's up at his house. I am so thankful he was a big part of my life and there will not be a day that goes by that I don't think of him. I am full of great memories with my Grandpa which include Horse back riding, Going up to Flaming Gorge Camping, Fishing, Watching Fireworks on 4th of July from his porch, Watching "The Blue Collar Comedy Tour" together how he thought that was so funny!! I am never going to forget how he touched my life!! I am so thankful also that he got to see me have both of my Children, And driving through a Snow Blizzard to get to see me get Married!! Thanks Grandpa for all my great memories of you!! I love you and may you rest in peace with all of your loved ones up above!! xoxo

Camping at Soapstone

We spent our labor day weekend up at Soapstone camping with family. We played Senior golf, Burned Weber State university Sweatshirts for a replaced U of U sweatshirt lol!! It was a great time to spend with Family!! I am so glad we get to spend it together!! So here's a few of the pics including the burned Sweatshirt!

WhAt We HaVe BeEn Up ToO...

Wow June was a crazy month for us...Lets see it started off with Avery turning 1, me being very busy at the salon, we had lots of BBQ's going on, Swimming, going to the park, attending family get togethers oh and my car getting broke into!! So unfortunately right now I can only take pictures with my phone camera because of course when my car got broken into I had a lot of valuables which included my camera, my $100 blow dryer, $100 flat iron, diaper bag and some other random stuff :(

So this week we had a busy 4 day weekend it started off with a BBQ at our place, then in the morning we went to the Murray City parade which the kids had a blast! Then we took a long 3 hour nap to catch up some zZZZZ's from the night before, then off to our friends BBQ which we were highly entertained by our friend Dustin and his scooter abilities lol! Then Sunday we got up at 6:00am which came way to early to go up to Smith and Morehouse to go fishing and can I just say FREEZING!! It was only 57 degrees!! So we fished with No luck til about 1:00 which was plenty of time, Then off to take a nap again and off to DJ's mom's BBQ ( lots of BBQing I know) and that was a lot of fun and good food! Then we were invited by our neighbors who had gotten fireworks from Wyoming, to go watch them in there circle and they were so exciting and fun until one flew at us where we were watching the fireworks and hit DJ and Kolby :( and DJ's butt was on fire ( LITERALLY) and Kolby got a spark to his hand so so so scary!! So Kolby was of course done watching them after that. But now he knows the dangers of fireworks. By the way he is fine just a 1-2 degree burn we have been attending too.

Then Monday came and we just hung out for awhile at home, Then went to visit Great Grandma D and DJ was helping put in Automatic Sprinklers for her. Then we went home and went Swimming at Kearn's pool, it was so much fun!!! Wow what a Crazy Exciting weekend!!

My Baby is Turning 1!!

I cannot believe that is has almost been a year ago that we had sweet little Avery Anne!! Last year at this time I was counting down til Friday June 5th to have my C-Section. I am so thankful and blessed to have her in Our lives!! She is such a happy, good baby!! She just started to crawl last week so she is getting faster, next will be walking (SCARY)!! We did her 1 year pictures 2 weeks ago so here are some to share of her digging into her cake!

Update

So wow does time fly like I always say...Avery turns 1 in a month, last year at this time I was hugely pregnant and couldn't wait to have her out of my belly!! So I am so grateful to have her out and into this crazy world and so happy that camping and outdoors will be a lot more enjoyable now that she is older! So what is going on with our lives lately...DJ has been doing lots of yardwork and regular work and is now trying to get over this flu/cold whatever it is he has, I have been working, trying to keep up with Laundry, cleaning the house, cooking meals (when I am home at night) and trying to get the time to spend outside with my kids, Kolby has been getting pretty good on his scooter and playing with friends and we are going to be registering him for pre-school which starts in September and little Avery and I mean that literally is trying to learn how to master crawling which she wants to so bad, and she is growing a little bit more each day she is in the 3 percentle for weight and height so she will probably always be little.

Mother's Day was nice, DJ asked me if I wanted to know what the kids had got me (or were going to get me) and I said sure, and he told me a Wii!! He said I was a great mom and I deserved it! What a sweet husband and kids!! So we just got it tonight and got Mario Karts with it so Kolby is in Heaven, Mario Karts is his Favorite game ever!! So Thanks hunny and kids!! I am so lucky to be a mom of 2 beautiful, healthy kids! It is the most wonderful thing in the world!! So thanks for making me such a proud Mom, Kolby and Avery!!

Hospital

So almost a week ago Kolby was down stairs screaming and I was upstairs getting ready for the day but I thought he was playing, He likes to yell and scream when he watches certain shows. Well he kept getting louder so I ran downstairs and what do I see, a mother's worst nightmare, Kolby covered in blood and his hand in his mouth. So I am thinking he bit himself and made himself bleed. So he wouldn't calm down or tell me what happened til all the blood was cleaned up...finally when it was all cleaned up I asked him what had happened...his reply "I stuck a LEGO up my nose" I said Kolby why would you do that..."Because it itched" so I asked what color the lego was and he told me green, so I grabbed the flashlight and started to look for a little lego...Didn't see any lego so I called the Doctor's office and they told me it probably isn't up there if he doesn't complain about it. While all of this was happening DJ was on his way to St.George for a work conference so he came home Friday night and Kolby had gotten a cold that kept getting worse, So DJ heard him last night having a hard time breathing through his nose, so he got a little tiny flashlight and shined it up there and sure enough...LEGO (CLEAR) is still in his nose!! I couldn't believe it!! That is what I woke up to this morning at 6:30 am was DJ telling me that the lego was still up there!! So we tried to get it out with Kolby fighting us with tweezers but it just wouldn't budge it was lodged in there really good! So we told him he had to go to the Dr's and he was really scared! so finally we talked him into going to the hospital if his Grandma "Piddle" came with us. So we waited for Grandma "piddle" DJ's mom to get to our house so we could head out and get that Lego out of his nose. He of course was calm up until the Doctor called his name and then the alligator tears started flowing. So he just checked his height, weight, temperature and then we had to go back to the waiting area. He was fine again until we had to go to the room where they were going to take the Lego out. He kept saying "Mom lets go let's leave, lets get out of here" (There were even cartoons on the T.V.). I wish that would of made it all better "Escaping" so we had a couple doctors come tell us a couple of the procedures they would have to try to get it out, if not they would have to put him under an antistetic. The options were try to get it out with very LONG tweezers or a catheter with a balloon on the end of it to expand and then pull it out, The doctor said that works about 98% of the time. So a half hour later they were ready to pull it out. It took 4 adults to hold down Kolby. DJ, Doctor, another doctor and nurse and I holding his head, arms, thighs and feet still. It was the hardest when he was all strapped down and cried for help, looked straight in DJ's eyes and said "Daddy help me" in his alligator tear voice. We both cried because we had to do what was best for him even though we knew it would hurt! So after about 2 minutes (long) of torture the lego came out!! Yeah He was so happy to have that out of his nose!! So all better now and hopefully he learned his lesson!

Time Flies!

I can't believe how fast time flies by, It seems like just yesterday I was delivering Kolby and now he is 4 and Avery will be 9 months tomorrow!! I just wish I knew then what I know now about kids growing up so fast, I didn't believe anyone when they told me how fast they grow! So my advice to all you new mom's out there CHERISH every moment with them because They will be 18 before you know it! I am so grateful to have my children and husband they are the BEST blessing I have!! I am going tomorrow to get there pictures done so hopefully Kolby is old enough to cooperate :) Avery loves to get her picture taken on the other hand she is already photogenic! I didn't get her 6 month pictures done like I was supposed to because I am a BIG procrastinator so finally made the appointment and getting them done at 1:00 and I am so excited because pictures are one of my favorite things! DJ is in St.George for work right now so it's been a tough week without him you really learn to appreciate things more when you have something then you don't so I really want to tell him he is a Wonderful husband and I appreciate him so much! Tonight me and Kolby are going on a Mommy-Son Date to Dinner and a Movie we are going to go see Planet 51 so I will let you know if it is a good movie to see, it was between that and the Frog Princess they are both at the dollar theaters. And my Mother-in-law is going to watch Avery for me. So that is about the excitement of our lives right now!
