how does it feel to be members of the country that has caused the single greatest upsurge in terrorist attacks the world has ever seen?
the propaganda machine is going to use this to confirm that they were right all along, when in reality, this was a self-fulfilling prophecy on their part.
i can't think of a better way to increase the number of terrorist groups in the world, and therefore increase the number of terrorist attacks in the world, than to conduct a war on two arab countries unprovoked (by them anyway), thereby confirming what the actual existing terrorists were saying about us all along. why not instead just fund the creation of a number of terrorist training camps? (the cia already has the knowhow) it would've saved us a shitload more money (and lives) than this bullshit war.
i.e. this is exactly like the madrid train bombing (read my 3/24/04 posting if you care). a country is getting attacked because that country's government (though not their people, as with 99% of the world) supported the iraq war and still has troops there. this is revenge for the terrorists. i think the stupidest thing i've ever heard, and that people have actually believed is the whole "they hate us for our freedom" absurdity. wake up. look around you. take some history lessons. the U.S. is the largest terrorist worldwide, and has been for much of this century. just because we're a lot bigger doesn't change the definition of the acts we've committed and are committing.
so yea people. be prepared for terrorist attacks on a more regular basis now unless something drastic changes. either way, this will be another excuse for the government to become even more orwellian than it already is, putting into place measures that will most likely never help capture terrorists, but will definitely restrict your ability to do anything without the government's knowledge and/or consent.
