A little background on our new motto...in order to maintain a health education certification, I attend conferences. At registration, I am asked to provide the company for which I am associated. I generally leave the questionnaire blank. Colleagues are then confused as to why I do not belong to a company. I then explain that I am attending the conference to acquire continuing education hours, but I do not work outside the home. This is met if various reactions. Most are positive, and they agree that I am wise for keeping myself marketable. Well, one late night when I was signing up for yet other conference, I decided that I was tired of leaving the question blank. Thinking back, I remembered a name of a fictitious company that Dan developed for a college assignment, "Going Strong." I quickly typed it in and rehearsed to myself, "The company was formed in 1996 by my husband and I. We currently have four share holder besides ourselves. Our focus is building a physically healthy, spiritually strong and happily serving family." With that, our family motto emerged.
