Quick Start
Phase 1: Connect to the Orbiter's Internal WiFi
Before you can tell the stand to join your hotspot, you have to talk to it directly.
Power On: Plug in your Orbiter headphone stand.
Find the Network: On your smartphone, open your WiFi settings. Look for a network named
ORBITERorWLED-xxxxxx.Connect: * Password:
deepspace(all lowercase).Note: Your phone might complain that there is "No Internet." Choose "Stay Connected" or "Use anyway."
Open the Interface: A "Captive Portal" (login screen) should pop up automatically. If it doesn’t:
Open your web browser and type
4.3.2.1into the address bar.
Phase 2: Configure for Your Phone's Hotspot
Now that you are in the WLED interface, you need to "invite" the stand to your phone's personal hotspot.
Go to Settings: Click the Config (gear icon) on the WLED dashboard.
WiFi Setup: Tap on WiFi Setup.
Enter Hotspot Details:
Network Name (SSID): Exactly as it appears on your phone's hotspot settings (case-sensitive).
Network Password: Your phone's hotspot password.
Save & Connect: Scroll to the bottom and click Save & Connect.
The stand will now stop broadcasting its own signal and try to find your phone.
Phase 3: Final Link-Up
Turn on your Hotspot: Ensure your phone's Personal Hotspot is active and "Discoverable" (on iPhone, this is the "Maximize Compatibility" toggle).
Wait for Connection: Watch your phone's hotspot status. You should see a notification that 1 device has connected.
Control the Lights:
Option A (App): Open the WLED Native app (iOS/Android). It should automatically discover the stand on your hotspot network.
Option B (Browser): Look at your hotspot settings to find the stand's new IP address (it will look like
172.20.10.xor192.168.x.x). Type that number into your browser.
💡 Pro-Tips for a Stable Connection
2.4GHz Only: Most WLED Orbiter controllers only support 2.4GHz WiFi. If your phone's hotspot is set to 5GHz only, the stand won't see it. On iPhones, turn on "Maximize Compatibility" to force 2.4GHz.
The "Fall Back" Rule: If you ever mess up the password and the stand can't find your hotspot, it will wait 30–60 seconds and then start its own
WLED-APnetwork again so you can fix it.Static IP: Once connected, you can set a "Static IP" in the WLED WiFi settings so the address never changes, making it easier to bookmark.
