basic syntax
[[page-name]]
this creates a link to /page-name in your site.
linking to nested pages
[[folder/page-name]]
[[docs/getting-started]]
[[blog/2026/my-post]]
custom link text (piped syntax)
use the pipe character to show different text than the page name:
[[page-name|click here]]
[[about|learn more about us]]
[[2026-01-15|Jan. 15, 2026]]
shows "click here", "learn more about us", or "Jan. 15, 2026" as the link text while linking to the specified page.
how it works
tinydot automatically:
- finds the target page by slug
- creates a clickable link
- tracks the connection for backlinks
broken links
if a page doesn't exist, the wikilink still renders but won't be clickable. create the target page to activate the link.
case sensitivity
wikilinks are case-insensitive. <span class="wikilink wikilink-pending" title="Page not found yet">About</span> and <span class="wikilink wikilink-pending" title="Page not found yet">about</span> link to the same page.
