The policy describes the rules and regulations of transferring credits earned as a student at CEU or at another recognized university or institution of higher education.

This document contains the University regulations on rank, (re)appointment, promotion and related matters.

This Policy applies to all areas of University operations and programs. It applies not only to conduct within the buildings used by the CEU Group (including the CEU Residence and Conference Center and other dormitory facilities that may be provided by the CEU Group), but also to CEU Group-related activities that may occur elsewhere, such as on field trips, at CEU Group-sponsored events, at occasions related to the educational mission of the CEU Group. It also applies to conduct occurring outside any of these places if it happens between members of the University Community and affects their performance in CEU Group activities.  The Policy applies to the conduct of all Employees (including temporary and part-time employees) and all Students, as well as to the conduct of those who are guests of or who do business with the CEU Group.

The following regulations are addressed to the Doctoral Students of the Central European University.

The P-1103-01v2306-1 edition of the CEU Doctoral Regulations applies to:
(1) all student cohorts who enrolled in CEU doctoral programs from the academic year 2023/24 onwards, and
(2) those students in the cohorts whose enrollment started in the academic years 2022/23, 2021/2022, 2020/21 and who chose to, and were approved by their programs, to opt into the new four-year study and funding scheme.

The P-1103-01v2306-2 edition of the CEU Doctoral Regulations applies to doctoral students who enrolled in CEU doctoral programs prior to the academic year 2023/24, and who chose not to opt into the new four-year study and funding scheme.

Graduate Student Teaching Policy is available as Appendix to the Doctoral Regulations.

This Policy defines the procedure of preparing and launching new degree programs, certificate and advanced certificate programs at CEU as well as operating and developing existing programs.

The By-laws to CEU's Charter as an education corporation incorporated in the State of New York. This is the main governance document of CEU as a US institution of higher education. 

This Policy defines the main principles, organization and mechanisms of Institutional Assessment and Quality Assurance at CEU.

The purpose of the CEU Ethical Research Policy is to establish the principles and responsibilities for ethical conduct in research by the members of the CEU community. As a research intensive university, CEU values and protects academic freedom while safeguards ethical principles in research such as respect for persons and their welfare and justice.

The purpose of the Policy on the Rights of Students with a Disability is to ensure that the legal rights of students with disabilities are recognized and protected. It establishes the principles and procedures through which students with disabilities are recognized and assisted, outlining support mechanisms and processes to ensure that students with disabilities enjoy the same educational opportunities as their fellow students.

This Policy defines the mechanisms and responsibilities for providing open access to, and centrally registering, CEU academic publications.

The purpose of the Code is to protect the values common to all members of the University community, including academic integrity, obedience to the law and ethical standards; and to provide a clear procedural system for dealing with matters of general and academic misconduct that jeopardize the health, safety, development and mission of the University and of its individual members.

Central European University (CEU) has encountered applicants who have been granted refugee status  by Austria or other state or are being assessed for refugee status or are in refugee-like situations whose existing qualifications require specific means of assessment and recognition. This policy is intended to establish procedures for assessing qualifications for entry to Masters degree programs at CEU by refugees and asylum seekers or individuals in refugee-like situations.

POLICY STATEMENT
Central European University (“CEU”) recognizes that trafficking in persons is inherently harmful, dehumanizing, and contrary to CEU’s mission and values. CEU has a zero-tolerance policy for trafficking in persons and is committed to high standards of ethics and integrity and compliance with all laws applicable to CEU and CEU Affiliates (as defined in 3.1).

BACKGROUND
CEU has developed this Anti-Trafficking in Persons Policy (“Policy”) and Compliance Plan for Combating Trafficking in Persons (“Plan”) in accordance with the “Trafficking in Persons (April 2016)” clause of the US Agency for International Development (“USAID”) Standard Provisions for US Nongovernmental Recipients. The Plan is an inseparable Annex to the Policy.

The policy applies to all credit-bearing courses, activities and programs offered via the distance education format by Central European University (CEU). The purpose of this policy is to ensure compliance with the standards of the United States Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) concerning student identity verification in distance education. In line with the requirements established by HEOA, CEU ensures that individuals completing credit-bearding coursework and other activities at CEU are the same students who have enrolled at CEU and registered for the respective programs and courses.

This institutional policy is aiming to ensure a better gender balance at events organized or supported by CEU.
