Being totally honest, I’m a little uncomfortable diving into the food blogging world. There’s too much talent out there. Can I compete? Wait, I don’t really want to compete, I just want to put something out there that’s fun, delicious and useful — for me and for readers. So, I’m being brave and just going for it. If for no other reason, sharing some of my longtime favorites and new discoveries here means the recipe won’t get lost in some forgotten box or recipe book. I’m learning..about food blogging and photography. I can only promise to get better.
I’m a wife, new mom, elementary teacher and baker.Β And when I’m in the kitchen, I’m happiest whenΒ I’m baking with a purpose — to share with others (uh, and to experiment with a new recipe!). So, hopefully as you follow the blog you’ll find a recipe or two of interest and think of someone you’d like to share a little something with. Isn’t it great that sweet treats seem to always make us smile? π
I’m all about feedback, especially the positive and constructive kind! Comments about specific recipes are ALWAYS welcome or you can email me at [email protected].
Thanks for stopping by!

suzy from church gave me your blog link. cool stuff you are doing. i set a goal to publish a family cookbook within the next 2 yrs or so. big endeavor and reading through your blog just confirms that. … in theory i loooooove cooking it is just hard to have the patience for it with 2 toddlers (markus and chris). But this gave me a little boost of energy, and inspiration to REALLY do it. Food is great. I so wish i had more time to do it. 2 big thumbs up for you!!!
Katja thanks so much for your comment! Your two little ones are adorable (and smart!) but I’m sure that makes baking a bit tricky. You’re more than welcome to come over to my place sometime and bake a little something! π
I love, love, love your new blog and that picture of you baking is so darling. Put it on the home. I like to see your face and imagine one of your tasty creations in front of me.
Dianna, I am a longtime friend of the Boyce’s and love to read your blog. I thought one time you posted about making a yellow cake with chocolate frosting for Nate. Was I wrong? That is my hubby’s fav cake and I was looking for a new recipe. Did you ever post a recipe for this, or am I thinking of someone else?
Thanks
Wait, I just discovered it was on Annie’s blog that she talked about it. Still, have any good recipes?
Hey Tiana,
Here’s the link to my favorite yellow cake recipe: https://doublebatch.wordpress.com/2009/09/30/lets-get-it-started/ The first pictures may not come up. They used to, so I’ve got to fix something I guess. The frosting recipe is now my go to when I need to frost a cake or cupcakes with something chocolatey. Thanks for visiting the blog!
