Danish National Strategy for Quantum
In 2023, the Danish government launched its first National Strategy for Quantum Technology, presented in two parts.
Part I, under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, focuses on world-class research and innovation
Part II, led by the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, addresses commercialisation, security, and international collaboration.
Together, these strategies mark a significant milestone in Denmark’s quantum ambitions. With a total allocation of DKK 1 billion from 2023 to 2027, secured through the 2023 Finance Act, the government has made a long-term commitment to strengthening Denmark’s position in the global quantum landscape.
This initiative reflects Denmark’s ambition to remain at the forefront of the second quantum revolution, building on its historical legacy, particularly the pioneering work of Niels Bohr and to translate cutting-edge quantum research into practical technologies that benefit society, industry, and national security.
