dreamgranter: (shall I grant your wish? [BUSINESS])
"Your coming here was inevitable."

Does your character want to have a wish granted? Then please, fill out this form before talking to Yuuko ICly about it, as I'll need to know what price to have her ask beforehand. Also, I might have to submit your wish to the mods in case it needs their approval first, so bear with me.

Yuuko is pretty much a canonical godmode in the sense that she knows a lot about events and people alike, and playing her requires a bit of metagaming.

In that vein and so I won't step on anyone's toes, here's a permissions post with a few basic questions about your character(s). Please feel free to answer as many as you'd like and, alternatively, to leave a comment with what you find important to know about your character(s) and what you're okay with sharing, even if it's just a few sentences. Anything is appreciated, really. ♥

[Here is Yuuko, looking so very not amused. How many times have we gone through this again? AND HOW MANY TIMES DID SHE GET NO BOOZE?]

I shouldn't even bother with warnings this time, should I?
dreamgranter: (putting up with [DID YOU NOT HEAR?])
[Here is a witch.

Here is a witch, with her chin on her hand and looking so dashing! Except that's more like bored, annoyed and not at all amused. Why, you ask?]

Well. This place sure knows how to spoil the fun of Halloween, doesn't it? [Yes, this is clearly very Serious Business. It's only one of her favorite times of the year!]

They had better still give us a treat. I'm about done with all the tricks.

[And with the double entendre right there, the feed is off.]
dreamgranter: (mystery woman [SERIOUS])

[ooc: If you guys could tell me whether your characters are actually themselves or one of the body snatchers for all-knowing-witch purposes, I'd appreciate it. Either way, she won't reveal their identities. ♥]
dreamgranter: (you are human [COMFORT])
[When the feed opens, there's an upwards view of Yuuko, as the communicator is lying on her lap. There is no sound for a long moment but background noise, the rustling of fabric and the slightest whistle as the witch draws smoke from her pipe, in and out. Once she does speak, though, her tone is much like the same - distant, barely an octave above a whisper.]

Who grants the wishes of the wish granter? [A pause as she seems to consider this. Except not.] I was once asked that, some time ago. By someone who held the answer all along.

[The wooden pipe is brought to her lips once more for a slow, deep intake of tobacco, smoke then released in a continuous cloud.]

There does come a time when the pupil surpasses the master, huh...?

[Watanuki had not disappeared, whereas Yuuko could never return. In the end, he had granted her wish much better than she ever did his.]
dreamgranter: (what a great idea! [WINK])
Running a little late this year, are we? [Said in a low tone, followed by a barely audible snort.] Even so, you're still awfully predictable.

[But, of course, that doesn't last. Switching to her usual loud mode!]

Well! You'd better have brought in only the cool kind of people this time around, to compensate for the extra waiting~! ♥
dreamgranter: (waiting to change [GAZING])
Off the network; )

[For the longest moment, all that can be heard in the background are whispers-- the rustling of hair in the wind, a piece of cloth swooping over skin and perhaps, just perhaps, a deceptively low sigh that was barely there. And then the clinking of ice on glass can be made out in the background, before Yuuko's voice makes itself known.]

Discedo. Keep in mind what it is you treasure the most, the next time you leave the city.

[And just like that, the feed is off.]
dreamgranter: (it's a ducky [POSING])
[When the feed opens, all that can be seen is a view of Yuuko's apartment, looking as though a hurricane had just dropped by for a friendly visit. If you're not familiar with the witch, she will tell you she's doing spring cleaning; if you know her tricks, then you can figure out who will actually do the cleaning here. Spoilers: he's a stupid four-eyes.

If you pay close attention, you might hear the eventual "Where is it?" and "Not here!" and "Nada!" and all possible variants of distress from someone who can't find what they're looking for. Considering the mess in the background, it's hardly surprising. But suddenly--]

FOUND IT!

[Give it a little longer and there will be a rubber duck pressed up against the screen, staring into your very soul. But just for a moment, as soon enough Yuuko is rubbing it against her cheek, an overly exaggerated display of fondness.]

Ah, how I have missed you, Ducky-chan! Mr Dolphin has been meaning to meet you for a very long time now! [Yes, it's a plush dolphin you see in her other hand. One that goes way back and most certainly has a meaning. And when she turns to the camera again, she's grinning like a little kid.]

Watanuki! Which one do you want to be?
dreamgranter: (as good as new; [GRIN])
[The following is spoken into the good old megaphone Yuuko hasn't used in a long time. Haven't you all missed it?]

ATTENTION, DISCEDO~!

[She then puts the deafening device aside, though still talking in a louder tone than usual - one that is definitely overly excited, too.]

Today we say bye-bye to Winter and give our warm welcome to Spring! If we make her happy, then she will grace us with many wonderful blessings~!

Watanuki! We need cooked beans! We can't have mamemaki without cooked beans, now can we?
dreamgranter: (just doing my job [DISMISSIVE])
Off the network | Possible action for housemates )

[The feed opens to an image of Yuuko sitting in her living room, a bottle on her side and an ocean of dark fabric that almost blended with her own dress. As the camera angle shifts, it's easier to make out the shapes of a black and purple cloak, with half of a star on each side and a magic circle on the back, although that was out of sight.]

A personal memento in exchange for the identities stolen, huh...? You surely have a peculiar concept of balance, I must say.

[A short pause as she moves to get a hold of the bottle, pouring its contents into a glass. When she brings it up to her lips for a taste, they morph into a longing yet altogether pleased smile. It wasn't because of the drink alone, though.]

The wine, at least, is a welcome change.

[Her glass is raised as in a toast with no one in particular before the video cuts off.]
dreamgranter: (no means no; [WTF?])
[The feed opens to a view of Yuuko checking several little hideouts in potential - under the cushions, inside the cabinets, behind the kitchen counter - shouting variations of "Aha!" and "Found it!" and "Over here!" as she goes, only to be followed by annoyed grunts and pouty huffs and loud grumbling as nothing special is in place. Rinse and repeat for several turns.

When she finally faces the camera, there's a pair of bunny ears on her head - though they do awfully resemble Mokona ears - and a very visible scowl stamped on her features. This is not a happy witch, Discedo.]

It's the Chinese New Year already, Scientist-tachi. And I don't see my red envelopes. Or my gifts. But because I am ever so benevolent, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and wait. You have until midnight today.

Oh, and-- [She looks like she was about to turn the video off, but then changes her mind. ] Don't you dare to have a repeat of this on Valentine's Day! You've been keeping me here for this long, so obviously this means you like me more than enough to give me honmei choko as opposed to mere giri choko.

[A slight pause later, there's a devious smirk sprouting on her face.]
Do forget and I'll have to submit you to unthinkable horrors.

[And only then the feed is clicked off.]
dreamgranter: (one day I won't be here [FADING])
[The feed opens to reveal one (01) Dimensional Witch, presented as nothing like her loud and crazy self, for once. Today, there is a very somber flair about her features, a pair of furrowed brows thinly veiled underneath raven bangs and a look that gave it all away. This alone should be enough indication there is something going on, but the more practiced eye might notice she's wearing a very particular kimono with a butterfly-shaped obi.

And that usually means nothing good, either.]

The very first dream of the year, huh...? A sign of things to come-- an omen, for better or worse. One should keep this in mind and try to remember that dream, as fleeting a vision as it may be.

[A second later and a soft snort can be heard, followed by a melancholy smile.]

I'm sorry, Yumekai. This one is not for sale, either.

[And the feed is clicked off.]
dreamgranter: (oh? [INTERESTED])
[A good evening to you, Discedo. Today we have one Dimensional Witch, staring at the camera with her hands on her hips and a huge grin stamped on her face. Someone has heard about Discomas, yes.]

Dear scientist-tachi-- or should I be calling you Santa-san? I have been an outstandingly good girl this year, as you can see from my ever so patient putting up with grumpy faces and all sorts of annoying little pests. So, let's get down to business, shall we? Number one! [She sticks out one finger to the screen.] I want sake. Quality sake. And there should be enough to last for a whole year, too. Next--

[Here, there's a broom sweeping past the camera, brb.] Ahem, as I was saying. Next, I want red wine, almost as much as sake. I won't be too picky about brands, though. Also, some beer, vodka and-- [And she's interrupted again, this time by a pushy duster prodding her to stand up, though Yuuko tells it off with a motion of her hand.] --and some tequila. Actually, make that a lot of beer, vodka and tequila. And finally--

[Oh, look, it's the pushy duster again, and it brought a friend-- a mop! By now, Yuuko is looking more than a little annoyed.] Huh. Watanuki would be very proud of you three, I'm sure.

[A huff is heard before the feed is turned off.]
dreamgranter: (this goes where? [HMM])
[The feed opens to the sound of Yuuko humming a song, quiet and idly at first. As she goes on, some of the listeners might recognize it as Jurassic Park's theme, from beginning to end.]

Hmmhm. This might as well be our Discedo Christmas Theme this year.

Too bad I always liked the T-Rex better.

[And the feed is off.]
dreamgranter: (such a naughty boy [WIDE GRIN])
This again? My, my, scientist-tachi-- you really are a terribly unimaginative bunch, aren't you?

To all the newcomers, let's make something clear: fun and cool people, willing hard workers and anyone else with nice presents come this way~! ♥ [And the camera view switches to focus on her living room, a sign of welcome.

When she pops up on the screen next, she doesn't look as amused anymore.]

Stupid wizards, annoying four-eyes and stupidly annoying four-eyed wizards go that way. [And then the camera moves around again, this time to show the door and, consequently, the way out. And then it zooms back to her grinning face.]

Enjoy your stay, if you can.
dreamgranter: (you amuse me [LAUGHING])
[With the communicator nicely propped on the table, along with a bottle of wine and a full glass, a very gleeful, very drunk Yuuko comes on the screen, clapping her hands in excitement.]

Attention, Discedo! Now that we're so close to Oktoberfest and as to make sure things will flow as smoothly as they should, I am generously willing to give you all a lesson on a very important part of our celebrations: drinking games! [And as she reaches for her glass, she frowns at one tiny problem: it's empty. And she didn't take a single sip. But what's even weirder is that she hasn't taken notice of the tall watery illusion standing right behind her, one that looks suspiciously like a certain bespectacled Clow Reed.

At least, not until she turns around. A long minute of silence follows.]

Huh. It figures you would show up just when I mention drinking. [Her tone is flat, but for once she keeps her composure and simply dismisses the wizard figure with a flick on the forehead. And then again, when the previously shattered illusion reforms. And again. And once more.

All right, so she might be getting annoyed now. But it's nothing some deep breathing won't solve. And a little cracking of knuckles, too. And perhaps a good, furious slap over the head, complete with what could almost be described as an amazon war cry. It does work, though, and the image finally disappears for good.]

Well! [She grins.] That ought to do it!

[The witch grabs the bottle and gives it a thoughtful look, wondering for a split second if she had already had too much wine. And then she drinks it, anyway.]
dreamgranter: (you cannot aford that [BLANK])
[The first thing you can see when the feed starts is a black little creature pawing at the screen and keyboard, led by the kind of curiosity that is very dangerous for a cat. Anyone familiar with Minagawa will realize that this is, indeed, his beloved Sukekiyo in a bit of an impromptu vacation trip to Yuuko's place.

But where is the witch lady, you might ask?]

One choice can change a person, and one person can change the future. [Her voice is heard, though only the cat is seen on the screen, peeking at the camera in between every meow or two.] Faith, doubt, who to trust and who to question-- everything will shape and build a new tomorrow. What is right and what is wrong wrong are human notions, as is the value of opposite lives on the line-- a construction worthy of gods.

[At this point, she finally comes onscreen, an open can of sardines in one hand as the other lifts her feline companion and places it on her lap once she takes a seat. She idly pets Sukekiyo for a minute longer as he gladly indulges in lunch time, earning a pleased purr in response.] Hmmhm. That's right, Sukekiyo. [She then seems to notice the camera is on and takes the communicator in one hand, quietly staring at the screen for a long minute, as though contemplating her own words. Her expression is more serious than it has ever been, but also full of determination.]

I, too, have made a choice.

[And then, she's seen fiddling with a handkerchief, right before the feed is off.]

[ooc: Ladies and gentlemen, this is Yuuko tracking down the hostages and helping out on her own. Character development is go, serious backlash is next! :D Tags will be a bit slow, so bear with me. ♥]
