How To Make Money Online in Malaysia

This is the best time to learn to make money online in Malaysia. In fact, your online business can even reach out to the world market!

Let’s face it. Retail businesses are not going back to normal due to the MCO after the COVID-19. An article on entrepreneur.com said that people are going to avoid crowded areas for the next 2 years. One thing’s for sure is that the lockdown has changed people’s buying behaviour.

All this social distancing has propelled online businesses like never before. Many business owners who own online platforms agree that their businesses are doing better during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Any retail business that haven’t or are not planning to take their business online are actually killing their business slowly.

16 Digital Marketing and Ecommerce Experts for The Generate Digital Mastermind

Recently, I’ve decided to enroll for Vince Tan’s Generate Digital Income Mastermind. When it’s a Vince Tan’s product, you know that you are in for a treat, laden with value and bonus treats. I’d have to say that the knowledge that I gained was way beyond my expectations.

What did I learn? I learnt mindblowing digital marketing methods on many platforms. In detail. I don’t mean fleeting sharing of information. It was a jam-packed full of strategies from every guru specializing in their expertise.

I have been to a few digital marketing classes but none of them were as fulfilling as the GDI Mastermind. The digital marketing sessions covered topics on how to get free traffic, how to build your personal brand and celebrity status online, how to do freelancer marketing, instagram marketing, product launch, online crowdfunding and so much more.

With 16 successful digital marketing and ecommerce gurus, you get to learn online business strategies worth thousands of dollars by paying only a fraction of fee. I mean, anybody who refuses to register for this course is really missing this opportunity big time. Usually we would find the gurus selling courses worth probably not less RM1,000 per topic. But in this mastermind, every expert gave us a masterclass. In terms of price, it is super cheap!

WHO ARE THE EXPERTS IN THE DIGITAL MASTERY SUMMIT?

If I were to explain every each one of them, this post is going to be a really long one. But I’ll share with you a few of my favourites, alright.

The first guy is a legend. He is Eric Graham who is the “Godfather of Video Persuasion”. He has been in the digital business for decades. His expertise is really important in video marketing today. Nowadays most people believe in videos more rather than in pictured ads. Why is he a legend you ask? Well, his clients are willing to pay him 1million USD for his time. Think about that!

Then there’s Sebastian Beja who is the Head of Growth-Platforms in Mindvalley. “Mindvalley is the largest online personal growth platform in the world” says their website. Beja shares about how to gain exponential traffic to your website or e-store without having to spend for advertisement. By the description of Mindvalley’s website, you can already imagine Beja’s living up to his reputation right?

Next is someone who is from our neighbouring country, Singapore; Andrew Tan. Andrew’s sharing was really humble but the strategies were really detailed and you can put to practice easily. But of course, to be successful like him having a 7 figured business requires dilligence and do it all in. Seriously, I was teary eyed during this session.

John Lee as usual was very energetic and taught us a lot of secrets on growing his reputation online and offline as well. He has millions of followers on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. If you are planning to grow your social media accounts abd be an influencer, he’s the guy you’d go to. Other than teaching people on doing online business, John has a company that is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

Well, I think that’s all I can share for now . Because it’ll only break your heart. 😉

So, if you are really interested about learning the tricks and trades of doing online business (learn from the world’s best), go and register for the second edition of the summit at https://bit.ly/onlineincome100x .

I’m not sure if they will organize this again in near future so you’d better register now before the registration closes. And oh, the sessions will be recorded after the live class ends. So don’t worry if you’ll miss any session because it’ll be available throughout the year.

Coronavirus in Malaysia

We are now in our 5th day of the Restrictive Movement Order (RMO). Since the 18th of March, the Malaysian government has announced an RMO for the next 14 days in hopes of flattening the curve.

How does a Restrictive Movement Order work?

Basically, people in the country are instructed to stay put in heir own homes, hostels or wherever they are currently staying. No gatherings are allowed. This is because we can’t identify a person who is infected with Coronavirus or COVID-19 immediately. It could take up to 2 to 3 weeks for the symptoms to appear. So in order to avoid any possible random spreading of the virus and swift medical attention to the group that is already infected, this RMO could potentially work.

A Restrive Movement Order is different from a total Lockdown because people are still allowed to leave their homes to get food and other basic needs. Essential needs related premises such as restaurants, supermarkets or banks are still open.

Restrictive Movement Order in Malaysia

When the RMO rumours were out, it had caused panic buying in Malaysia. People thought it was going to be a total lockdown like China did. So a lot of people went stocking up food and household items like the Singaporeans did.

A day before the announcement, I chose to go to the Setapak Giant because I knew that not a lot of people went there as compared to Cold Storage in Mont Kiara or Ben’s grocer in Publika. As I arrived, lo and behold! Never on earth have I had to queue for a long time and on that day I did. I realised then that this was going to be serious because before that I didn’t know how soon was the government going to enforce an RMO.

After the RMO instruction was announced, it has caused an exodus. A lot of people were rushing to go back to their hometown to be with their loved ones. There were cynical memes on social media saying that these people loved their families so much that they’d even want to “gift” their coronavirus to them.

But some of them were innocent varsity students which had nowhere to go because the universities were shutting down hostels and told the students to leave. It was only later then the government announced that they would provide financial aid to the varsities to cater the students’ needs in the hostels.

On the 1st day of the RMO, pictures and videos of people enjoying their breakfast at restaurants were circulating on social media. The government then emphasized and highlighted that restaurants can’t cater eat-ins but only takeaways. The next day, we saw restaurants had left chairs on the table and only took orders from the entrance.

On the following day, there were still people ignoring the RMO. They still went shopping and even gathering at their residential areas. The Malaysian police had to go hard on them by scolding them to go home.

Malaysian Military Steps In To Enforce the Restrictive Movement Disorder

Finally on the 3rd day, the government announces that the military is going to assist our Malaysian police to enforce the RMO. The government doesn’t want to announce a total lockdown. Only that this time, the government limits only 1 person is allowed to leave the house to buy things that a household needs.

We don’t know if this 14 day RMO would work 100%. But if does not, then following China’s draconian lockdown is the only way to go in the end. China was successful in its battle because it took them only 50 days to be free from the contagious virus.

With the public transport still working and people are still allowed to go to work, I suppose there is still potential for the virus to spread around. We will see.

Education in Dar al-Mustofa, Tareem

After 3 years, my little brother has returned to Malaysia from Tareem for the holidays this Ramadhan. At 22 years of age, he has become a fully grown young man. However, shyness remains one of his main traits. I am glad to see how Hadramawt has changed him. It has indeed put him in the right path. Exactly what he has been dreaming of since his adolescence.

In 2016, my brother had departed for Tareem, Yemen to continue his religious studies in an islamic school known as Dar al-Mustofa (House of The Chosen One). When I was told that he was heading to one of the failed states in the world, I had feared for his life! My mother then had explained how Habib Ali Zainal Abidin had suggested that my brother should pursue his studies after graduating from Madrasah al-Attas. Knowing Habib Ali, I felt definite that what my brother had chosen to do was for the sake of Allah.

Is Dar al-Mustafa, Yemen safe?

Alhamdulillah Tareem was safe from the wars that erupted in the South of Yemen. I heard that there were minimal incidents of crossfires but Dar al-Mustafa was safe from any conflicts. I suppose it is due to the barokah of its teachers and the learning students. May Allah always continue to Protect them from any harm.

What is the Nature of Learning in Dar al-Mustofa?

It is a must for students to be well versed in the Arabic language before they are able to enroll for their core courses. Habib ‘Umar bin Hafiz who is the Dean insists that everyone speaks no other language than Arabic in Dar al-Mustafa. That is why the students chose to study in Yemen in the first place anyway.

Their campus is convenient with basic facilities. One thing though. One should understand that Tareem is a place of no worldly luxury life. If you are a student of Islam who intends to seek knowledge and embark on a true spiritual cleansing journey, then Tareem is the best place for you. Thus, before really opting to further your religious studies in Dar al-Mustafa, you must make sure that you have tuned into the right mindset. However, if you are looking for a more modern setting, then it is better that you head off to Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and the likes.

Certificates, pointers and examination results are not a priority in Dar al-Mustafa. Instead Habib ‘Umar greatly emphasizes in deep understanding in knowledge. This is because he does not want the students to chase cosmetic achievements but he believes in learning and adopting it as a way of life. Which is the life of our beloved Prophet S.A.W.

What is the Objective of Dar al- Mustafa as an Islamic educational institution?

Its objectives consists of 3 facets; Knowledge, Suluk and Dakwah. Firstly is the enable the students to attain authentic Islamic Knowledge from its great scholars of ahlussunnah wal jama’ah. These knowledge are acquired or passed down by the method of sanad which can be traced back from Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.

Believe it or not, the practice of teaching knowledge by passing down to the future generations is not only practiced via the chains of scholars to their students but also culturally maintained in families in Yemen. The sharing of knowledge in unbroken chains (sanad) is a strong practice there.

Then there is Suluk where the students seek to be close to Allah SWT by cleansing their hearts and strengthening spirituality. Throughout the day, besides attending lectures, students would come together for sessions of dhikr and recitations. They have a small kitab of compilation of dhikr known as the Khulasah. Habib ‘Umar bin Hafez hopes to create more emulators if not close copies of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.

Finally there is the Dakwah. Students of Dar al-Mustafa are taught with various methods to spread Islam and Sunnah of the Prophet S.A.W. When the time comes, selected students would set out to certain places to do dakwah.

Currently, there are students who have graduated from Dar al-Mustafa and are doing dakwah with a more modern approach that suits the current trend. It is hoped that Dar al-Mustafa will keep on producing more excellent students who will continue the responsilibites of dakwah like our beloved Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. Insyaa Allah!

Love as The Foundation of Being Human

I remember my grandfather told me once “Manusia jadi jahat sebab satu benda je, mereka hendakkan kasih sayang” (People become bad because of only one thing, they want love). His statement was in response of me curiously asking him why on earth is everybody calling atuk or abah. A queer character, my tok sedara is a prolific political writer but also a philanthropist. More often than not, he would accept guests with open arms. His warm welcome made people at ease. They became so comfortable that some even stayed for months. Oh well, that’s his part of charity for the Hereafter.

Back to his statement, how illogical it may seem to me at that time. It does seem to have some truth to it. In a book I read recently entitled “Raising girls: Helping your daughter to grow up wise, warm and strong” by Steve Biddulph, he says that a girl (perhaps applies to boys too) goes through five stages of growth. The first stage which is vital in providing the stable platform of being human is being secure.

Babies from the day they were born to 2 years old are in a phase of total insecurity. They need full attention. Like building a house, a child will have a strong emotional foundation if it is loved via hugs and attentive communication. A crying child would calm down if a mother takes it into her arms for cuddles. Feeding and clothing a child would be insufficient for it to develop prosperously emotionally and mentally.

Biddulph asserts that affection is the key. Not only via hugs and cuddles but also play! I saw a documentary on pregnancy that explains how pregnancy would affect the infant’s character and intelligence. It says that if you want an intelligent child, the father must play the role to care and show affection to the mother during pregnancy. It shows that how much does love and affection is instrumental in the process of human growth along the way.

However, despite that the seeds of love should be sown from the beginning stages of life, it is never too late for anyone at any phase. All they need is a little compassion and love.

The Fate of Sheer Personifications

I have abandoned this blog for way too long. I had some time perusing my old posts since 2007. It is interesting to reread what you wrote years back. It reminds yourself of who you were and what you went through at that particular time. Our existing conditions usually influence the way we narrate our stories and the ideas we lay out. Those days I can see how complex and philosophical my thoughts were.

Now? I am more focused about what can I do for my family and how I can prepare for my Hereafter life. You see, people change by the phases of their lives. Or perhaps labour has altered my brain.

Anyway, I wish to revive my writing activities in this space. None about politics at the moment. It’ll be more about sharing information, thoughts or even reviews. Sorry my dear political pundits but life goes on. Hope you’ll still find something useful anyway.
