This is my diary of words and photographs, daily activities and random thoughts, which these days tends to describe our family life.
I keep this journal as a means for sharing our daily life with family members and friends which are spread out in various corners of the world - it's like an extended daily version of a family Christmas letter...year-round and with photos.

A note about the 'friends' list:
Since I'm not comfortable with calling people I've never met 'friends', I find it a rather silly name.
Let's call it a subscription to read your journal. It doesn't mean I'm going to drop by your house for coffee or ask to borrow a cup of sugar. I just like reading your journal and subscribing facilitates that. I don't expect you to call me your friend, or to subscribe to mine. We might become friends through this, but there are no strings attached to subscribing, and I'm more at ease calling it that. So if my name shows up on your 'friend of' list, I'm not stalking you and I won't show up at 3 am asking to use your bathroom. I just like reading your words or viewing your photos. If you aren't comfortable with me subscribing and want me to remove you from my 'friends' list, just ask, okay?
FOR FOLKS WANTING TO VIEW THIS JOURNAL:
This journal contains a lot of daily stuff and pictures about me and my family, mainly as a way to keep family and friends updated about what we've been up to.
As a result, I keep it "friends-only" so that I have some idea of who is reading, but I can give you a guest membership if you post a comment (who are you, how you found me etc.) here or email me at *dstroy at livejournal dot com*.
If you already know us, just contact me to get a guest account, or let me know if you have an account here already so that I can give you access.
Please don't just add me and then expect me to reflexively add back - I don't keep track of changes to this list, and reflexive add-backs defeats the whole purpose of making any of this private.
