As this year of 2011 begins, we decided it was time to bring everyone up-to-date on the events of our Family.
Dave was urged to retire early in March last year, just shy of 27 years with Frito-Lay/PepsiCo. He had many wonderful years there and is now looking for more wonderful years somewhere else. In between searching for a new employer he has taken time to go golfing, whittle down the "Honey-do-List" and take four trips. The end of Feb, Dave and I and our good friends Marty and Anita Robbins, went on a cruise to Cozumel.

| I made a "Hole in one" on the first and last holes! |
We had a wonderful time on the water and played a game of putt-putt on top of the ship. Then we went on our own personal Dune Buggy guided tour of the Island. This world really is a big beautiful place!

In April Dave flew to Utah with Debbie and Sean to attend Ashley's BYU Graduation and drop Sean off to attend BYU for Spring Term. In June he went out to Henry's Fork near Island Park, Idaho for his family's reunion and celebration of his father's 80th birthday.
Then in Oct. he took his lovely wife to Utah. He went to the BYU Management Alumni Leadership Conference at Aspen Grove,
visited with children currently living there, went to the Priesthood Session of Conf. with his father and Sean,
and attended the closing session of General Conf. with Sean, Debbie and Debbie's Mother.
He also keeps very busy with his church calling as a member of our Stake Presidency and enjoys serving those in our Stake. This last December he participated in a friend's live Nativity. What else would he be, but a "Wiseman".
Dave is looking forward to a very productive New Year with a new Employer.
Debbie was forced to share her days with her husband starting in mid March. Really it has been a wonderful time! Besides the trips with Dave above, they have been golfing and enjoying their time together after many years of Dave traveling away from home. While Jon and family were still living with us, their son, Austin loved to help her plant flowers in the Spring and help grandpa wash his car.
 |
| They love to play in our pool! |
 |
| They love to cook in grandma's kitchen! |
We're glad they didn't move too far. We love having our grandchildren so close!
In May Debbie decided to enter Real Estate School and passed her State Exam on July 9th.

She is currently an agent for Keller Williams in Flower Mound. So anyone interested in Real Estate, give her a call. She's pretty flexible, as grandmothering is her "Full Time Job"! On Dec. 1 she took her own trip to Utah to help Ashley and Josh with their new addition, Hyrum Allen McCune.

He is soooo cute! We were excited to have them come home for Christmas with everyone else. Debbie is looking forward to a very productive New Year with a new Employer for Dave Also.
Jon, Cris, Austin, and Ethan moved out of our home the first part of July and into their "FIRST" home in Frisco, Texas.

It's fun having them only 30 mins away. Cris helps with Nathan as one of his aides, so we still get to see her and the boys every so often. Jon's business was forced out of the mall he was in so he decided to start a new career. He became employed in Aug with Huawei, a telecom company. He is an assistant Account manager, and works in the terminal department, (handsets). Basically he makes sure that the cell phones work on the networks of the carriers that buy them, to sell to their customers. He enjoys his new profession and still finds time to wrap and engrave phones. for those that want to protect their investment. In fact he just started a new company specilizing in engraving electronics. Give him a call! He enjoys teaching the Priest/Teachers in the Aaronic Priesthood on Sundays and Cristina loves playing in the Nursery with Ethan.

Cris runs around keeping up with their two, very energetic boys, and does a beautiful job of decorating their new home. Austin loves pre-school and is looking forward to kindergarten next year.
Ethan has the sweetest sly smile and disposition. He loves their nursery at church. For Austin's fifth birthday, the family drove out to Utah to take him skiing. (Really it's Jon's excuse to visit his family in Utah and go skiing himself). The whole family is looking forward to a very productive New Year with a new addition, hopefully a girl, in April.

Chris, Sarah, Madison, and Jaxon took a wonderful trip to California in June. It was a surprise for Madison. She's our little princess and therefore, they took her to DisneyLand.
 |
| Madison with Ariel. |
Of course they couldn't tell her until they were almost at the gate because she would have driven them mad with constant questions on when they were going to get there and how long it was going to take.
Madison is a very inquisitive little girl and very smart. She is already learning to read and looking forward to starting Kindergarten next year.
Her best buddy is her cousin, Austin. Jaxon is the spitten image of his dad, even down to the whinning. But what a cutie! He gets away with everything too, like his dad!
He had to give up the position of little brother in Aug. when the family welcomed little Colton.

He is soooo adorable! But then, so are his siblings, so he couldn't be anything less. He's growing like a weed and looking forward to teething. NOT!
Chris and Sarah enjoyed a wonderful trip to Hawaii this past year.
Sarah is the camp director and the bulletin specialist in her Ward. She is looking forward to a very productive New Year with some more sleep. Chris was called as the Executive Secretary in their Ward this past March, but tries to get some exercise every Wed. night by playing on a Soccer team. He also enjoys boating with his family everytime they come over to visit.
He is still employed with Highland Capital as one of their Senior Hedge fund accountants.and looking forward to a very productive New Year when the tax season is over.
Stephen has enjoyed his education at Utah Valley University this last year. He helped build a home in
one of his classes and rendered architectual drawings in another. For someone who says he can't draw, he's pretty good. He stayed in Utah this past summer and worked instead of going away with APX security somewhere. But he still had time to play in Moab, where he camped, four-wheeled and did some rock climbing with his friends.
He took scuba diving lessons and passed his exam at the Homestead's natural spring in Midway, Utah. Someday he'll get to an Ocean.
He went to Monteray Caifornia, with about 20 of his friends in July and stayed right on the Pebble Beach Golf Course.
 |
| Monteray dancing! |
He just got a job at the Canyon's Ski Resort as a Ski instructor and taught Austin, Jon's son, some lessons while they were out in Utah the first of Jan.
 |
| He loves to snowboard! |
Look him up, if you need lessons. He's looking forward to a very productive year of employment so he can pay for another year of college. Maybe he'll get lucky and find a special girl that will help support him through the rest of his college education.

| Portrait in December |
Ashley and Josh have had many exciting events occur in their family. Ashley graduated in April from BYU with a BS in Elementary Ed. She was going to find a teaching job but then she found out she was expecting in the Fall. So she worked at APX over the summer helping out at customer service. In Oct, when her parents came up she had a baby shower and on Nov 18th she brought a beautiful baby boy, Hyrum, into this world.

He's sooo adorable too!

Ashley and Hyrum stayed a week longer after Christmas and we got to witness Hyrum's first Smile
and have a baby shower for him.
He's now our most recent future missionary!
Josh has been having a grand time teaching Seminary at Timpview High in Provo and finishing up his education in CES this past year. In fact this Fall, he had Ashley's cousin, Annie Horne, in his class. He finished all his classwork in CES this December and will graduate next May from BYU. Before Josh left for home after Christmas, he was called by the Church's CES department and offered a job teaching Seminary at Maple Mountain High, in Mapleton, Utah. He started Jan. 17th and loves it. Now they're trying to find a place to live closer to his work. Ashley and Josh are excited about all the new changes in their lives and are looking forward to a productive New Year with some more sleep.

Sean also had many wonderful events occur this past year. He finished his High School Education last January and worked as a life guard until going out to BYU for Spring Term. Then he was brought home mid June to walk with his graduating class of 2010 from Flower Mound High. Afterwards he went back out to Utah to take his Spring Exams and then back home to work for the summer before returning to BYU in the Fall.
He put in his mission papers the end of Aug and has been called to the California San Diego Mission.
He was set apart as a missionary on Dec. 26th and everyone is so proud of him. Even his nephews, our furture missionaries.
He entered the MTC after Christmas on Dec. 29th. We just said goodbye at Security in the airport.
He will be the last of our boys to go and we're really excited about sending him off.

He had some great experiences at the MTC, and then flew to San Diego on Jan. 18th. His Mission President is Pres. Donaldson and his mission produced the new videos that the MTC uses to help the missionaries learn how to teach with the Spirit.
During his first week in the Mission field he was privileged to meet Elder and Sister Evans, from the Quorum of the Seventy, who just happens to be the brother of our good friend, Susan Foote, here in Texas. Sean is looking forward to a very productive New Year sharing the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ with those searching for the truth in San Diego. If you know of anyone in his mission, send them his way.
Nathan unfortunately had to have surgery again this past May. Five years ago he had a special intravenous pump put inside him to help relax his muscles. It wasn't working properly and his neuro-surgeon re-installed a new pump and catheter. It is working better, but it doesn't cover teenage attitude. He literally can have one of those teenage days and then look down at you with one of his wonderful smiles, as you can see.

He loves swimming in his Aqua-therapy class at TWU,
and horseback riding at Stajduhar Stables.

Both of these therapies really help his muscles relax and stretch better.
Nathan started High School this pass Fall and he received a "MUM" from the circle of friends group at his school. He wasn't too fond of it, though.
Nathan does like it when we go caroling for Christmas, though. He is looking forward to a productive New Year of stretching better without pain.
We just can't let this new year begin without a good ice storm here in Texas. Our swimming pool says it all.
