Watch a landmark of modern architecture take shape before your eyes

The Eames House Construction Flipbook returns in a special reissue that celebrates both the legacy and resilience of one of modern architecture’s most iconic homes.

Using 72 faithfully reproduced stills from Charles and Ray Eames’ 1955 film House: After Five Years of Living, this flipbook animates the construction of the Eames House, Case Study House No. 8, built in 1949 in Pacific Palisades, California. Page by page, the house comes to life before your eyes, offering a unique, visual understanding of how Charles and Ray assembled their revolutionary design using industrial materials: a steel frame structure, prefabricated façade panels, and a poetic palette of color and texture.

This re-release also marks a moment of resilience. The Eames House narrowly escaped destruction during the Pacific Palisades Wildfires. Thanks to restoration efforts, the house has reopened, and the spirit of the Eameses endures. As proud sponsors of the Charles and Ray Eames Foundation, the Eames Office will donate 15% of all sales of this deck to the Charles and Ray Eames Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund.

Compact, collectible, and deeply inspiring, the Eames House Construction Flipbook is a playful keepsake that allows you to bring a piece of Charles and Ray’s home with you!
