Retiring.

Hey hey hey!

As you may have noticed I've been quite the slacker when it comes to updating this here blog. There's a reason for that. About 2 years ago I started another blog now known as "C Fit 4 Life" and well it's hard to keep up with two blogs. C Fit 4 Life is a fitness blog I started as a way to journal my fitness experiences as I embarked upon training for my first half marathon and yoga teaching certificate. Over the past couple years it has become more than just my journal. It is a way for me to connect to others and share my passion of leading a healthy life through not only exercise and nutrition but anything that sparked my interest in that topic.

After much thought I've decided to retire this blog {eandlittlec.blogspot.com} and focus on C Fit 4 Life which will combined my passions of exercise, health AND the adventures of Eric and I. So please follow us at our new address. {cfit4life.blogspot.com}

Thanks to all our loyal followers! :)

"My Kindness Shall Not Depart from Thee!"

A week ago, Sunday the 24th, I got a call from my cousin Shayla telling me that her brother Chad had passed away early that morning. After many years of battling bipolar disease and schizophrenia Chad sank into a depression and took his own life away. I cried the moment she told me. My heart hurt for so many reasons. I love my cousin Chad. He has a sensitive heart and is so funny. Haha! I just think about his laugh and a typical joke he would crack and it makes me giggle. Even though his mind suffered disease, I always knew he had a good heart. He was a good person. Knowing him helped me to not be so quick to judge those I don't know. When I would see a stranger on the street who looked a little rough outside I would think about Chad and how great he really is and would not judge that person without knowing them. I hoped that people who didn't know Chad wouldn't judge him for being something he wasn't.

While I don't fully understand everything about these situations, one thing I know for sure is that we have a loving Heavenly Father who knows our heart, our spirit and can see past all our imperfections or illnesses. This experience has taught me is to hold onto the relationships I have. To cherish and make memories with friends and loved ones. And after reading through some of Chaddy's journal entries, I have seen how important keeping a journal is. I am so motivated now to write down my feelings and experiences so that when I pass on my family will have greater insight into my life and have a little piece of me to hold onto.

The entire Salcido side was able to come to Utah for the funeral this past weekend. It was wonderful to all be together. We've all been so close growing up and I love them all!

My sisters and I + cousin's Haylee and Hannah sang "My Kindness Shall Not Depart from Thee" at the funeral and while it was really hard to sing through without bursting into tears, I was happy to sing that song for Chad, his parents and all his siblings. It is such a beautiful song with words taken from scripture about how the Lord is always mindful of us and will never forsake us. Here is the song...

So hold on thy way,
For I shall be with thee.
And mine angels shall encircle thee.
Doubt not what thou knowest,
Fear not man, for he
Cannot hurt thee.

And with everlasting kindness will I succor thee,
And with mercy will I take thee ‘neath my wings.
For the mountains shall depart,
And the hills shall be removed,
And the valleys shall be lost beneath the sea,
But know, my child,
My kindness shall not depart from thee!

I love you Chad!

Twenty Five

Happy Birthday to ME! :) My favorite day of the year where everyone must obey my demands. Bah! I hung out with my cousin Camilla during the day. She was in town from Michigan with her little girl Kennedy. That night Eric took me out to dinner at The Harvest in Thanksgiving point. So yummy!
Here's a look at the day's events...

Yoga Night!

All week Eric and I have been battling a cold so Friday and Yesterday we spent sleeping and recovering. After that much needed rest we were feeling energetic late last night. Good thing we knew our friends would be up to playing with us. The night turned into an acro yoga fest and we had a blast. We laughed hard, did things we didn't know we could do, and almost broke body parts. It was FUN! Here's a look at how the night went down...

Lake Powell '12

Last week we spent another fun and relaxing week in Lake Powell with my company Redmond. I was the official yoga teacher this during the trip which is always fun! Yippy! I taught around 5 students every morning at 7am. It was so perfect with the sun coming over the red rock as we practiced. Sighh.

The highlight of this trip was hiking Hole in the Rock. In all these years of making Lake Powell trips I have never seen so I decided before we event left to LP that this was the year.

Image
I loved this type of hike where you have to climb up rocks instead of just walk up a path. So fun and challenging!
Image
Practicing arm balances at the top :)
Image
I was so nervous at the top. It was sooo high up and so I made Eric hold to me in order to take this pic.
Image
Real Foods friends!
Sadly, the last day we were there Eric got sick with a cold. He spent the whole sleeping and watching movies in the houseboat. I felt bad for the poor little guy but he is all better now and I'm the one who is sick. Darn it!

Image
Eric's hang out spot during his sick day. Not too bad.

One of the 5 houseboats on this trip. The mighty Free Bird.

Took a spur of the moment trip out to visit my sister in No Cal last week. She and her Husband were already visiting in Utah so I just drove back with them. I love being with my sister! Here's a look at my time in the bay area with Shenelle and Spencer...

My bed. I found Mindy lounging here every night.
There really is nobody else I'd rather hang with than my sisters. We are all so different but love to do all the same things together. Sisters, sisters.. never were there such devoted sisters!

The Best of Trash T.V.

My newest guilty pleasure the past several months has been watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette. The Bachelorette finale was the other night and so I invited some of our awesome friends over to share in the moment and watch Emily make her final decision. Yay Jef! #teamjef
