Hydroquinone 4% is a skin lightening agent that decreases pigment production.

Tretinoin 0.025% is a retinoid that normalizes pigment irregularities, and speeds up skin turnover - increasing the rate of skin lightening. ​

Hydrocortisone 1% is a topical steroid that helps to off-set the inflammation and irritation caused by hydroquinone and tretinoin, and decreases pigmentation by impeding melanocyte metabolism.

Apply the cream once nightly to affected areas for up to 2 months. After 2 months of usage a 1 month break is required.

If hydroquinone is used consecutively for an excessive amount of time it can cause ochronosis (brown-black pigmentation). To prevent this usage is limited to once daily, and a one month break is recommended after two months of usage.

*For this reason we recommend also using the Brightening Cream in Month 3 to maintain the results you see with the Dark Spot Cream, and to continue to improve hyperpigmentation.

Although relatively safe side effects can include mild skin irritation, dermatitis, dryness, redness, and inflammatory reactions.
