Easy Hydro Technology
Innovative Micro Hydropower Technology for Sustainable Energy Recovery
Maximize the potential of your water resources and generate CO2-free renewable electricity without damaging the environment
Key Features
- Small-scale, modular hydropower turbines
- Based on standard water pumps, designed and optimized to operate as turbines. The technology is sometimes referred to as Pumps As Turbines (PAT)
- Sizes from less than 1 kW up to over 1 MW
- It is possible to scale up by installing multiple units at the same site
- Can be used on man-made water networks (e.g. drinking water, irrigation or industrial) and natural ones (rivers, lakes)
- The standard turbine configuration is in parallel with the power grid for behind-the-meter self-consumption or export. An off-grid option is available too, usually used to charge an energy storage battery
- Three turbine types (Centrifugal, Axial and Volumetric) covering a range of flow rate from 1 to 5000 l/s under a hydraulic head of 1.5 – 1600 m
Our turbines are reliable, low-cost and easy to maintain, thus enabling the development of sites previously thought uneconomic.
Centrifugal Pumps As Turbines (PAT)
Our main product range is available:
– In different geometries: end-suction, in-line, multistage, split-case
– In a wide range of possible materials (cast iron, ductile cast iron, stainless steel AISI316, Super Duplex, bronze) and coatings
– With certification for use with drinking water (e.g. ACS, NSF-61, DM174)
We also offer a standardized off-grid (battery charging) package up to 5 kW.
Axial Pumps As Turbines (PAT)
Axial propeller turbine, with either fixed or variable blade pitch. Available in horizontal (dry chamber), vertical or inclined configuration. Blades in stainless steel AISI316 or bronze, and several choices of materials and coatings for the body and elbow.
Volumetric Pumps As Turbines (PAT)
High-pressure piston turbine, suitable for pressures from 20 bar up to 160 bar. Available in AISI316 or Duplex stainless steel.
Why an Easy Hydro turbine?
- Low cost: based on off-the shelf components
- Easily maintained: just like maintaining a water pump, with spare parts readily available
- In-house expertise: based on years of applied research, we can help you to select which model is best suited for your site and predict precisely how much energy it will produce
