Anyone in the Tempe area have room for a roommate, or know someone who does? A friend of ours is getting kicked out of the dorm next week and she is looking for a place to stay. She's getting depressed about the creepy "free room for personal services" ads on Craigslist.

Since I missed out on the crowd-crushing world premiere of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie (AKA: Battle of the Sideburns) in Tempe on Monday, I think I can wait until tomorrow night to see my most anticipated movie of the year. So no midnight movie tonight. Plus I have to work on Friday. Boo!

Tomorrow night is also the downtown Phoenix First Friday Art Walk which we've been attending fairly regularly. Afterwards, we plan on seeing Wolverine.

Nearly the entire office watched Inauguration 2009 this morning.

I thought that overall it was a good event. Not too thrilled about the Rick Warren guy, but whattahyagonnado. Gotta love Yo-Yo Ma!

I really like the way Obama has captured the "hope" motif. I think that's really rallied a lot of people. Like him or not, he's really mobilized voters who've felt alienated in the past 8 years, and speaks to people who've been through a lot of misfortune over the past year or so. Whether or not he'll live up to the great expectations of the masses is yet to be seen. We'll see what happens.

Am I the only one who was worried about an assassination attempt during the speech?

Drained. I had a fairly low key weekend but even with having MLK day off it wasn't long enough.

I did, however, play about 18 hours of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King!

It's a cute Wiiware game that I downloaded because I had a hankering for a resource-management kingdom-building game. It didn't quite hit the mark, as it doesn't involve much resource management or kingdom-building per se, but it seemed to satisfy my cravings to an extent. I hope to get a review of it up on Vox shortly...

Anyway. Yeah so the holidays are over and it's a brand new year and everything. Some highlights worth noting: I got Wii Fit, a breadmaker, the Watchman graphic novel, Mouse Guard graphic novel, and a bunch of clothes. silvercatmon's parents' house got robbed and her car broke down this month. An awesome start to the year.

Been doing Wii Fit sporadically this past week as I've been in a bit of a funk due to an intermittent illness/malaise. Stayed home on Thursday but ended up working about 6 hours anyway. Spent another 4 hours on stuff again today because I just couldn't get all my stuff done last week.

Hopefully I'll approach this week with renewed vigor. Or, more likely, I'll hit snooze five times tomorrow before rushing out the door.
