Atlanta Thrasher's Game

12-6-10
We were given free tickets to the Thrasher's game from one of Danny's subcontractors. Hockey is SOOOOOO much fun to watch!! The Thrasher's came from behind to tie, went into OT, and pulled it out in the end! What an exciting game to watch!! And a perfect way to spend a Monday night! :)

Six Flags over Georgia!

9-11-10

ImageIt's been a few years since we've been to Six Flags. This was the first time we've gone when ALL of the boys were tall enough to ride EVERY ride! We had a great time as a family ~ riding every ride we could! It's a good thing we have a bunch of trill seekers in our family... because we hit all of the fastest, highest, craziest rides... and loved them ALL!!
ImageDad, Jared & Tad riding the "Dahlonega Gold Mine" ride... more of a kiddy ride... just for Reed :) Then.. off to the Goliath again!!

Camping at Tallulah Gorge

9-23-10
Over the kids Fall Break, while the men were working, the women took the kids camping :) Yep, we loaded up the vehicles and drove two hours to Tallulah Gorge to camp for a night. We had a great time hanging out by the fire and hiking down to the bottom of the gorge. It was very beautiful and we got a work out too!! ;)Image

There are 5 falls and we hiked to all of them ~ very cool!

Hiking over Fall Break - Blood Mtn & Brasstown Bald

9-21-10

The boys have a week off in September for their Fall Break. We did a lot of day trips... one of which we headed to the North Georgia Mtns to hike with friends.

ImageWe hiked up Blood Mtn, along the AT (Appalachian Trail) ~ always a favorite hike! Straight up for 2 1/2 mls but what a view at the top!
ImageWe had lunch at the top and enjoyed the views.Image

ImageThen we headed over to Brasstown Bald ~ the highest mtn in Georgia. This hike isn't as fun (it's a paved trail) but the museum at the top with the observation decks are well worth it.

US 10K Classic

September 6, 2010... Labor Day

Jared's first 10k! Jared has done a few 5K runs but this was his first 10k. Katy & Aunt Kathleen have done this for 3 yrs now and were excited to have some company!

Jared had an injury around mile 4 but pressed through the pain and still finished in under an hour! Not bad considering he was seriously hurting. I love that he enjoys running and look forward to the day he outgrows his knee growth plate issue so he can really move out!! ;)Image
