Workshop and Study visit with Glocal Filmschool

Last week ten students and two teachers arrived at my studio. To listen to me talk about my work, my studio, the projects and my personal history. After a few hours of talking and showing puppets, masks, props and sets we had a workshop with animation and a workshop with build up puppets.

- The forest -

Sculpting the trees for the forest out of styrofoam and papier maché

Building the animationtable where the forest will reside

Creating a forest floor surface with glue and saw dust and trying out the placement of the trees

Trying out the hole witch will be turned into quicksand 

The trees are in place and the shelf is in place for holding the puppet beneath the set

Making a bigger version of the statues arm for closeups out of a simple wire armature, cotton and liquid latex

- The puppet armature -

Since he will crawl up from quicksand I will have to be able to use the upper body separate

A little rig for the upper body with adjustable height so that I can animate his ascend from the quicksand

Through The Noise – Icarus

Last year I did a fast small job for the music video Icarus. A pair of torn of wing stumps for the singers back. I only had a few days from sculpture to being on set and doing the make-up. So it was really rushed. But Im quite happy with the result in that short time frame.
