Christmas Day...

Since Elliot had to work Christmas Day- we joined Yamma and Yampa, Ellen, Evan, Liz and Bob later in the afternoon (oh- and Bianca and Boomer too)! Its always fun to get together over there because you never know what fun activities will be going on. We of course had the fun gift giving/exchanging going on. Then- we ventured outside to ride bikes, scooters, pogo-sticks and push strollers too. The kids love this because they have access to the open road. I love this because its fun to watch everyone doing their own thing. I posted a picture of Uncle Evan on the pogo-stick. I managed to snap one of Yamma but she requested that I didn't post that one =) Later on, when our stomachs were growling- we kept that Davis tradition and ventured off to Jack In The Box for dinner. I have to admit it was quite tasty. It is kind of a funny tradition- but its one we all love doing. When we came back- we had fun playing Farkle with Ellen and Yamma (while the kids ran wild). It was a great Christmas Day at the Davis'...... can't wait for next year!

Christmas Eve....

For Christmas Eve this year we all made it to Graggy and Papa's house and enjoyed a wonderful dinner together. Then (as usual)- chaos began. It was present time and we began with the enormous boxes from Graggy and papa (in the picture with all the kids on top). Inside were these awesome bean chairs for the kids. We figured that we would have the kids open these first and then they'd have a place to sit for the rest of the fun night. Then for the next 2 hours we enjoyed a fun night filled with gift giving and gift receiving. When we returned home- we had a huge surprise waiting for us there. Santa had made an early visit to our house (he's a pretty sneaky guy). Earlier this week, Ellie had sent Santa a letter requesting that he come a different time so that her daddy could be there (since Elliot had to work Christmas morning). Well, that Santa (being the smart guy that he his)- snuck into our house while we were gone and brought all the fun things early. We didn't even have a chance to leave cookies and milk and he still came (what a guy) =) The kids were totally surprised by this and they had a fun end to an already super fun day.

Ward Christmas Party!

Image

Image
So, our ward had its Family Christmas party this last Saturday Night and it was a lot of fun. Santa arrived- but sorry no pictures of the kids with him because Macie and Scotty wanted nothing to do with the man. Finally, after 7 years of torture- Ellie went and stood by him (that was the best she would do). There was a little program- and Macie wandered around the gym the entire time- making new friends and being miss social butterfly. At one time- she started doing duck, duck goose to all the primary kids and teachers sitting on the floor who were listening to the stories. She entertained the crowd with that one. Scot found a giant nutcracker man decoration and decided to see how he worked. He was entertained for a long time which was nice because for a while we then knew where he was. He then dissapeared and Elliot found him in the Relief Society room organizing hymn books..... what a funny boy! =) It was a fun night to meet with friends... and my parents were there as well and I managed to snap a picture (that's rare these days because usually my mom throws her hand in front of her face for a picture). So ha - mom.... gotcha =)

Our little Gymnist!

Image
Image

Image
Ellie has discovered her love of gymnastics. She has been going once a week for the last 4 months and has loved it. She loves to do handstands.... a lot! In fact- I think she spends more time upside down than she does right side up. At first- We'd find her against our wall, but now she has gotten to the point that she can do it anywhere and at anytime! She is always flipping on our couch (I know- not the greatest location), and doing summersaults (forward and backwards), making a bridge and doing cart-wheels. She has advanced to level 2 now at Gymnastics and looks forward every week to her class. She has also taught Scot and Macie how to do some of her tricks. Scot loves to do handstands against the wall... and Macie- well she tries and then just knocks them all down. Its pretty fun to watch these 3 go at it. Maybe we'll join the circus... or maybe they'll join the circus =)

Big Birthday Bash!

Image
Image

Image

Image
Well... "Birthday Season" has come & gone around our house..... (woo hoo). This year we decided to combine Ellie's 7th birthday and Scot's 4th birthday party which worked out great except for the fact that there were 30 kids running wild in our backyard. :) We were able to get this awesome jumphouse/slide/obsticle course which was perfect for the kids. They had a blast climbing, jumping, running, punching, etc. They pigged out on pizza and cupcakes..... and Ellie and Scot scored when it came to present time. At one point, Scot became exhausted and needed some "yampa time". It was a fun (and tiring) day..... cant wait for next year!

Halloween Fun!

Halloween came and went.... and left us with fun memories. The kids had a blast dressing up. Ellie (of course) was a Queen, Scottie was a RED power ranger, and Macie was a chicken (or a "yicken") :) I decided (last minute) to be a farmer.. which coordinated very well with Macie's costume. In the morning we went trick or treating with our friends -and Scot and Macie had lots of fun there. Then that night we went and enjoyed cornbread and Chili at the church for "trunk or treating". Their Daddy even made a surprise visit - which is always fun! The kids loaded up their pumpkins like crazy and had a great time doing it. It was a Spooktacular day!Image

Fun at the Park!

The kids always have fun at the park by Yamma's House (especially when they go for a ride in the wagon to get there). Even Yamma, Yampa, Aunt Liz & Uncle Evan went too! It was a pre-mission call party for Uncle Evan... who (the next day) received his mission call to Nashville Tennessee..... Yeah Uncle Evan! :)

It's pumpkin Time!

Scot, Macie and I were able to go to the pumpkin patch with Scot's Joyschool. They loved to wander through all the pumpkins to find the "right one". We also went on a fun hayride and were attacked by the branches hanging from the trees... (for some reason the tractor driver decided to go right through them). We also had a fun picnic and Scot rode on the rope swing. It was a fun little field trip. When we came home- we carved their pumpkins and made delicious pumpkin seeds.... We love Halloween time!Image

Scotty's 1st trip to the train museum!

Elliot and Scot had some male bonding time today and went to the train museum. Scot loves trains- so this was an awesome day for him. He was so excited once they arrived that he could hardly contain himself. He couldn't help but attempt to climb over and under the ropes. When he got home- he said there were a hundred trains (and to him- that is the biggest number EVER). He said they were ENORMOUS and SUPER HUGE :) Oh yeah- and they also got slirpies (or slipperies- as we call them) and went to the candy barrel-- and loaded up on candy.... what a fun day for the boys!
