Santa Came....

After all the craziness on Christmas Eve... Santa decided that he would still find our house. The kids all woke up at 7:15am. I called Ell (who was working) and he was able to come home. So when he got home- the kids were let loose to check out their goods. Ellie asked Santa for a DS-i and he came through with that one (we haven't seen her since). Scot got lots and LOTS of Lego's and Macie got her baby with lots and LOTS of accessories. They also each got a new Webkin which made their day, along with lots of other little things! Lucy had to get in on all the action and check out what the kids got. Surprisingly- Ell was able to stay home with us most of the morning which was great.... So, Scot and Ell put together most of his Lego's. It was a really fun day! In the middle of it all- I looked outside in the front and found a bunch of Turkeys wandering on our street. I bet they were glad it wasn't Thanksgiving =) ImageImage

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve came this year with the usual Stout traditions..... Ham dinner, whipped-cream potatoes, Christmas jello salad, veggie tray, sparkling cider, homemade rolls and pie... We were so full that us adults could have just ended at that.... but we had a house full of children anxiously awaiting present time. So, after taking our time cleaning up dinner- the normal craziness began. The kids first opened their pajamas from Papa and Graggy and then we all took turns opening the goods. It was a great night! Early Christmas....

This year we got together early with Ell's side of the family because he had to work on Christmas day. So, we went up to Ells parents house and met up with Aunt Ellen and Aunt Liz (and Boomer and Bianca too). We took Lucy with us because Elliot said, "It's Christmas- she can't stay home on Christmas". =) So, she came and got dressed up by Yamma too! Yampa made his fabulous breakfast for us.... Eggs, bacon, english muffin, sausage and then it was on to presents!
Unfortunately- I didn't bring my camera the next day- but we met the Davis clan over at Jack in the Box for our annual meal on Christmas Day. As usual, it was great. Elliot was able to meet us there too so we could carry on the Davis tradition. After lunch, we went to Yamma and Yampas house and were able to talk to Evan on the phone (or Elder Davis) who is serving a mission in Tennessee. The kids all talked to him too and he sounded great. We even think he has a little southern accent going on=) It was a great Christmas with the Davis Fam this year.... til next year!

Playing in the snow (again) =)

This time we planned a trip to the snow with full on snow pants, boots, jackets and gloves. The kids were much warmer and happier and had a BLAST riding on the discs down the hill. We went with the Jensens and really enjoyed going up the mountains and nailing each other with snowballs. =) We came home with a few bruised bums and legs but lots and lots of smiles. ImageImageImage

Santa Time....

Image
Last night was our ward Christmas party. Santa made his arrival and for the first time EVER.... my children didn't freak out when he walked in the room (although Macie quickly grabbed the hand of the closest adult to her). They waited patiently in line and told Santa what they wanted this Christmas.

ImageImage Then they were given free reign to the cookie decorating table and they had FUN. Although, I think Macie's favorite part was pouring the sprinkles directly into her mouth =)

The primary kids were asked to come up and sing some Christmas songs. They busted out their "red noses" of course for The Rudolph Song.

Image
But.... this is how I found Scot (when the kids were supposed to be singing). Apparently he didn't want to sport the red nose.

Oh well, it was a fun and memorable night.

Snowy days...

So, We've had really cold weather around here. In fact, on Monday- it actually snowed which was super exciting for the kids (okay- for me and Ell too) =) Yesterday we spontaneously decided to head up to Apple Hill to get some caramel apples, cider and just walk around and have fun. To our surprise- less than half way up the mountain it was covered in snow. We didn't realize that there would still be snow on the ground. We decided to keep on going.

Once we got there- we discovered that Apple Hill had at least a foot of snow and WAS CLOSED =( So, we all got into our coats and played in the snow. (Our kids have never played in the snow- so this was a pretty awesome thing to them).

Scot LOVED it and didn't care how cold or wet he was. He was determined to hit us ALL with a snowball. Ellie had fun (until she was hit by a snowball by her brother). Macie wasn't very happy (especially when her daddy hit her in the tummy with a snowball when he was aiming for me).

Eventually- we did find a place that was open that had some caramel apples and turnovers...... so we did get our apple fix and had a really fun time too! I LOVE WINTER!
