The first image is processed to emphasize a 'beauty' aspect. I wanted to evoke a feeling of ethereal beauty that focuses mainly on the eyes. I also played with the cropping to create negative space for design copy. I also muted the palette to create a pleasing and calming image. I also cleaned up the skin to bring the focus on the eyes and mouth.
This image I processed in Raw capture to create a antique tint type feel to the photograph. I used the channel mixer to take the image to black and white, then I created a custom sepia tone. After the color processing I used a scanned texture of an old metal place and used layer effects to add the over all weathered texture. I also used dodge and burn tools in photoshop to vignette the edges and darken the eyes to give them more intensity.
This image I processed with a younger clientele or an edgier type over all feeling. This was processed in raw capture and was split toned to create a film cross processed look.
This last photo is a bit more subtle, however if you look a the detail it is bringing out the rough edges and the texture of the image. This was processed in a gritty cartoon type style to create a different hyper reality shot with exaggerated texture. It was done by using extremes with levels, curves and fill light functions in raw capture.

This piece, Absence is from my BFA series Windows and Doors. This body of work is dealing with memory. The windows and doors being a medium through which one can draw upon their memories.

Most of the work involved in fixing the dresses included extending dresses so they hit floor length, smoothing out wrinkles, making the dresses fit the models perfectly.
Some of the images, I used multiple images to create an overall more pleasing view, in this case you can more easily see the beautiful print of the dress.
All the models received a basic slimming or shaping creating beautiful and flowing lines.
I also worked on each of the models skin and hair to create the ideal woman.

This photo was taken in Assisi, Italy. This is a small mountain medieval village that was home to St. Francis (of Assisi). He was an inspiring man and this is an inspiring city. Probably one of my favorites while visiting Italy. As you can see in the before picture below I added the door and flowers to create interest in the photo.
These are the original images of the beautiful Vespa and the Image of the door that I took also in Assisi at a different place in the city while I was exploring.
This is the original photo that I took the two flower pots from the far right of this image to create the final picture above. This shot was take in the village of Siena, Italy. I used image composite methods, liquefy and transform tools to create the final image.
These are two images I worked while at Rubberball Productions. The first is one of a many that I worked where I composited two images together in Photoshop to create the realistic look that the man is literally crawling on a rat wheel. The Second image is a Caricature. Rubberball is one of the first companies to start creating digital composite caricatures. This caricature that I created in photoshop was done by using five different images and blending them smoothly and realistically into one image creating the 'bobble head' effect.

This is an image that I shot while studying art history in Italy. This was taken on a small island called Borano, about 45 minutes by boat, away from Venice, Italy. This image before and after is to show how powerful the use of layers can be in Photoshop. To achieve the final image I used 8 different layers to bring multiple elements to the photograph. As you can see below in the animation that there are multiple layers for color and vignetting. I also added additional layers to bring in the detail in the sky.
The process of capturing a photo with multiple levels is called High Dynamic Range Imaging. "In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of exposures (the range of values between light and dark areas) than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows."
As you can see I have used the HDRI techinques to get the portions of sky and buildings to the desired points. After doing that I continued using layers to remove elements like the fence on the left and the metal beams in the water. I then took boats from a different image and added them in to create more interest. I then put finishing touches on the color and took out the pink hues in the clouds. The result is two different images in the mood and detail I created with the HDRI and the use of layers. Please click on the images to see detail.
These images are to show works where I have digitally manipulated and liquefied the body shape. The first image I retouched I started with the standard routine: removing bags, moles, and other imperfections. Then I liquefied the side of her body to have a more pleasing and smooth shape. I also minimized the thighs and the folds and creases in the bathing suit to appear slimmer and less distracting. Please Click on the before and after image to see the detail. Since body manipulation can be subtle I am including animated gifs to show a more dramatic before and after.
For this image I also did subtle, but yet important body manipulation. To create the perfect 'hourglass' figure I liquefied her body into a more pleasing and 'ideal' shape. I minimized the thighs. I also smoothed out the contour of the back and waistline. To make the image truly symmetrical I also shifted the left arm to appear at the exact same height. Overall these small things make a big impact visually.
This image I did the standard retouching with the skin and bags under the eyes. I then liquefied and smoothed out the back line so it appeared smaller and minimized or removed folds in the skin. I also smoothed out and lifted the breasts slightly to create a more youthful and 'ideal' look.
This last image is a close up of the model from the previous pictures. This shows extensive retouching and smoothing work on her skin. Since this image is a 'beauty' shot it is supposed to portray flawless beauty. As you can see by clicking on the before and after for a close up that I smoothed out fine lines and wrinkles, minimized bags under the eyes and removed blotchy skin and freckles.
