Emma, Shujun Wang

Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in BME of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University since 2023. Before that I was a Research Associate in University of Cambridge and Postdoctoral Researcher in the University of Hong Kong. I have completed my PhD study (2021) at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, supervised by Prof. Pheng-Ann Heng and Prof. Chi-Wing Fu. Previously, I received the B. Eng degree (2017) from Honors College in Northwestern Polytechnical University.

Research Focus: AI for Science

1. Proteomics Generation and Understanding: Developing deep learning methods for peptide sequence prediction and generation, advancing intelligent solutions in fundamental biology and drug design.
2. Medical Artificial Intelligence: Designing AI algorithms for disease diagnosis and treatment decision-making, with a focus on key technologies such as medical image analysis and semantic understanding.
3. Multimodal Data Fusion and Personalized Prognosis Prediction: Integrating medical imaging, clinical records, and omics data to build individualized disease progression models and risk prediction frameworks.
4. Medical Time Series Modeling: Exploring dynamic modeling and prediction techniques for electronic health records (EHRs) and vital sign sequences, aiming to enhance the intelligence of clinical monitoring systems.

• Sep. 2021 I have worked as a Postdoc in CUHK in the Group of Prof. Pheng-Ann Heng. My USA VISA was rejected....so sad. Missing a chance to Standford University!
