About EPIC

EPIC Think Learn C.I.C. is a spin-out company from The University of Edinburgh.
We are registered with Companies House as a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.) – a type of social enterprise.

At EPIC Think Learn, we support neurodivergent children, to better understand who they are and how their brain works. We encourage parents, teachers and clinicians to see things from the child’s perspective and to pick resources from our toolkit that match the child’s goals.

EPIC Think Learn services and resources are based on over 25 years of research and public engagement into thinking skills (executive functions) by Dr Sinead Rhodes and her colleagues. Our two directors remain active within the neurodevelopmental research field, and EPIC Think Learn services and resources will continue to be updated in line with the latest research.

Our resources are particularly suitable for those working with children and young people who have just joined the waiting list for neurodevelopmental assessment, but can be used at any stage in the process (including post-diagnosis).

Our mission

Our mission is to equip parents, teachers and clinicians/practitioners with research based information, so that they can support the neurodivergent children in their care.

Our Services

EPIC Think Learn is a subscription based service for parents, teachers and clinicians/practitioners.
Our resources are particularly suitable for those working with children and young people who have just joined the waiting list for neurodevelopmental assessment, but can be used at any stage in the process (including post-diagnosis).

We use an online toolkit approach, so subscribers can pick and choose the parts that are most relevant to them right now; and return later to retrieve the next tool. We accompany this with live Q&A sessions with our team and monthly webinars on topics of interest.

We have memberships for parents, teachers, and clinicians and practitioners. You can find out more about them below.

If you are interested in one-to-one support calls or bespoke training opportunities, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your needs.

Our values

EPIC Think Learn is built upon four key values:

  • Evidence based content and continually adapting from the latest research.
  • Co-production: We develop our materials with input from children, parents and teachers, so they fit their needs.
  • Respecting the individual, and opening up conversations around differing perspectives.
  • And a willingness by everyone involved, to grow, learn and adapt – that includes us – and you.

Our Free Resources

Free booklets

We have a range of FREE booklets for parents and teachers which are available to download from our resources section.

Research Summaries

Our blog contains simple summaries of the latest research that are written in everyday language, as well as news about EPIC Think learn. Subscribers are encouraged to contact us to request summaries about research studies on topics that are relevant to them.

Our Subscriptions

Parent subscribers receive access to both our on-demand content (text, video and audio) and are invited to join us live on our regular online Q&A sessions. Here we can answer questions and guide you around the resources – so you never need to feel lost. For maximum flexibility, questions can be submitted in advance and recordings will be provided; but we truely believe in the power of a conversation.

Our Teachers platform is still under-development, but will open shortly to subscribers.
Join our mailing list to be the first to hear when it is ready (we will soon be looking for volunteer testers).

For Clinicians and Practitioners, we have a series of on-demand webinars, that can be accessed at any time.
Join our mailing list to be the first to hear when our clinician/practitioner platform is ready to open its doors.
