About the challenge

During this hackathon, you will have the opportunity to work on challenges related to a variety of social justice issues, such as gender equality, racial justice, economic empowerment, accessibility, and environmental sustainability. You will also have access to workshops, mentoring, and other resources to help you develop your ideas and turn them into functional prototypes.
Our judges will evaluate the projects based on their potential for impact, innovation, and feasibility. The top teams will receive winning certificates.

Get started
Getting started with Equali-Hack Spring 2023 is easy. Follow these simple steps:
- Register: To participate, you need to register for the hackathon. Registration is free, and all you need to do is join through DevPost. You can register as an individual or as a team of up to four members.
- Join the Slack channel: Once you've registered, you will receive an invitation to join our Slack channel, where you can connect with other participants, mentors, and organizers. This is also where we will share announcements, resources, and updates about the hackathon.
- Start hacking: Once the submission period opens, it's time to start hacking! You will have one month to work on your project.
- Submit your project: When you're ready, submit your project via DevPost. Your submission should include a pitch deck and a demo video showcasing your solution. Remember to highlight the problem you're addressing, the impact you're creating, and how your solution is innovative and feasible.

What to Build
Equali-Hack Spring 2023 is focused on developing innovative solutions that promote a more equal world. We encourage you to build solutions that address social justice issues related to gender equality, racial justice, economic empowerment, accessibility, and environmental sustainability, among others.
This is an open-ended hackathon, so pick an issue of inequality that you care to solve the most!
Remember that the key is to create a solution that is innovative, impactful, and feasible. You can use any technology or programming language you like, as long as your solution meets the criteria and addresses one or more inequality issues.
What to Submit
- Pitch deck: Create a pitch deck (maximum 10 slides) that outlines the problem you're addressing, your solution, and its potential impact. Be sure to include any relevant data, such as market research, user testing, or feedback from experts.
- Demo video: Create a demo video (maximum 2 minutes) that showcases your solution in action. You should explain how your solution works and how it addresses the problem you identified. Be sure to make it engaging and clear, so that the judges can understand your solution and its potential impact.
- Additional information: You may also include any additional information, such as user personas, wireframes, or screenshots, that help to illustrate your solution and its potential impact.
