Plans

I won't leave you in suspense any longer.

We are indeed moving. St George will no longer be our home. Oh, how we have loved it here.

Loved the weather. Loved the people. Loved the temple. Loved the shopping. Loved Target. Loved the variety of places to eat. Pretty much loved everything, except for maybe the cockroaches.

But alas, it is time for us to call another place home.

The truss plant that Dan worked for is shutting down. So we are on to bigger and better things. Right? At least, that is what we keep telling ourselves.

We are moving to Laramie for a couple of weeks until we hear back from a job in Casper. Then we will see where life takes us.

It's funny how you have your life planned out and the Lord seems to have a different plan in mind.

Thank goodness He knows what is best for us...because apparently, we don't. :)

Happy Father's Day

Here are a couple of pictures of our Father's Day festivities.

Dan with his shirt and tie card from Alayna and I.
Image Opening his gift from Alayna. She tricked him and put a small gift in a large bag with tons of tissue paper. Daddy sure was digging for his present. What a tricky girl.

Image Happy Father's Day, Dan! I hope it was all you wanted and more. Alayna couldn't ask for a better Father. We are so glad you are ours. We love you!

Image And Happy Father's Day to you, Dad! You are the absolute best!
Don't worry, I will call you as soon as you get home from scout camp. :)

Good Times in Laramie

Our trip to Laramie was definitely filled with fun and family.

Here's a little of what we did:

Hung out with Grandpa. You can never have too much Grandpa time. He always has glasses, a hat and a pen (which Alayna has in her hand) to play with.Image When Grandpa and Grandma were busy, Aunt Sarah was the one to play with. These two had a great time together.

Image One morning we headed up to the ranch. Alayna and I just had to try sitting on the gigantic tractor in the pole barn. The picture doesn't show it, but this tractor is quite large. I have a secret wish of driving it someday.

Image
Daddy had to take Alayna on her first 4 wheeler ride. I don't know how she really felt about that, but she was thinking about steering a few times.

Image Alayna even had time to dance with Grandma. She LOVED it!

ImageOur trip ended much to soon. Sometimes I feel like more time was spent in the car than out of it. In the end we traveled 1700 miles, but it was worth it.

Going to Laramie

Yep.

We're headed to Laramie.

And we're excited about it, despite the 10 hour drive.

Visiting with family has been long overdue.

If you would like to see us, let us know.

8 Months Old

Alayna turned 8 months old on Saturday. I simply cannot believe it. She is getting so big.

And here is a picture to prove it. Doesn't she look older? And cuter.ImageIt has been so fun to watch her grow and learn new things.

Here is a picture of one of her new favorite things. Standing on my hip. I don't really know why she does this, but she sure loves doing it.

ImageBaby Signing Time has also become a favorite. This is a picture of her the first time she watched it. You can't really see, but her mouth is open, in awe. It was so funny to watch her. She would watch the TV, wave at the people, then smile and look at me. This was done over and over again until the show was finished.
Image As mentioned above, Alayna has learned how to wave. It is soooo cute. She twists her wrist side to side more than waving up and down, but it is still so cute. Here is a short video of her waving while watching Baby Signing Time.
While stretching our legs at a gas station, Alayna decided driving is something else she would like to do.
First, she was all business. Two hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
Image After a minute she got more comfortable and decided two hands on the wheel is good enough. You don't need to look where you are going.
Image Then finally she decided one hand on the wheel was all it took.
ImageAlayna has now pretty much mastered sitting up on her own.
Image Now she thinks she can sit up on the tub all by herself. No one needs to help her. She puts up quite the fight when we try to tip her head back to wash the shampoo out.
Image Here is a little of her "girly-ness" coming out. When taking her picture, she spent a good couple of minutes playing with her dress. She would grab it, hold it out as far as it would go, then bring it in. If she could walk, I think she would have been twirling.
Image Teething has caused this finger to be in the mouth (as well as anything else that is around). We have discovered that she is not only getting one, but two teeth. Maybe more. We will see.
Image When visiting Grammy a couple weekends ago, Alayna was introduced to the Saltine cracker. She loved it. Thanks Grammy!
Alayna is still doing well at eating baby food now. She now likes squash, pears, peaches, bananas, and peas.ImageAlayna and her Daddy. She LOVES her daddy!
ImageYou can't help but smile when Daddy tickles you.
ImageUm, can you say CHEESE?! We love our happy 8 month old!

As Promised

Remember the Craft it Forward post? The one where the first three people to comment on my blog would win a craft made by yours truly?

Here you are Jill, Rochelle, and Emily...

A homemade purse just for you.

When I saw the tutorial for this bag, I knew I had to make it. It was just to cute to pass up.

Now, I know you all are moms and you are thinking, "I can't fit anything in that purse. Where will I put the diapers, wipes and snacks for the kids?" Well, they won't fit in here.

This is a purse for your night out with the hubby when you don't need the binky and the extra toys for those kiddos. So, go have a night out and enjoy your gift from me. We all need a reason to dress up and go out on the town with our hubby, and what is a better excuse than a new purse? You could even take a pic and post it on your blog because I KNOW this purse will look fabulous on you.

So, here's what you need to do. I made five different purses. Take a look and see which one fits your personality and style best, then leave me a comment letting me know which one you want, include your email, (so I can get your address) , and in a couple of days you will get your purse in the mail.

But HURRY!!! It's first come first serve. I only made one of each.
