I have had just about enough.
Of sickness, that is.
I can't take much more. And I'm positive Alayna feels the same way.
I mean look at this picture.
You know your babe is sick when the normally energetic, wandering, running, happy little cutie will only lay on the couch like this to watch her new favorite movie, Finding Nemo. The poor little girl has a fever, cough, runny nose, mild ear infection, and to top it all off, she just might be getting a tooth.
So while I am enjoy the snuggle time, I am also trying not to focus on my cabin fever.
Here's to a fast recovery.

Enough

Seriously...
When did this girl grow up? Today I decided that just maybe my baby was big enough to wear pigtails. While she has plenty of hair, it has always been longer on the top. I have attempted to do the ponytail thing a few times, but we just needed to wait until the rest of her hair caught up.
So here she is, my little pigtail girl.

Friends
Alayna and Easton have become little buddies. Most of the time they are nice to each other and get along. Here are some cute videos of them.
The first video is of them rolling the basketball back and forth. Don't mind my commentary. You never realize how dumb you sound, until you listen to yourself on camera.
In the second video, they are showin' off their dance moves. Sorry about the shakiness of the camera. I was trying so hard not to laugh, but I couldn't help it. They crack me up. Towards the end of the video Easton is saying "birdie". He saw a birdie on the TV.

I am an Aunt again!
Little Kendree Rae made her appearance at 12:28 pm
She was 6 lbs. 3 oz. and 18 3/4 inches long.
She is precious and just teeny.
I'm already loving the snuggle time.

I don't know why I am posting this but we'll give it a go anyway
Warning: This post is filled with random thoughts/opinions of a silly Wyoming Gal. Who knows if anything interesting will come from it. Read at your own risk.
I loved all the suggestions you gave. They inspired me to do an entire post of my thoughts.
Plus I needed to respond to some of your comments. And why not just blog about it while waiting for my 16 month old to fall asleep so I can start working out.
So, here we go.
As previously mentioned, we don't have cable. For most of our married life we haven't.
Early on in our marriage, we had rabbit ears and they worked great. We got a few select channels and they got the job done.
Then there was one short snippet of time (9 months) that we did have cable. We were both working and wanted to reward ourselves for "moving up the world" and decided to get cable.
I really don't miss it much. Occasionally there is something that I want to watch, like...the Olympics! But life goes on.
Over time we have found with the Internet, you really can watch most things a day or two after they have aired. Hulu.com is favorite website of ours. And we found the library to be a great resource as well. Casper's library was like a Blockbuster. There were so many movies. It was awesome!
So, that was a little background for you. I don't know why I thought you needed to know our TV watching history, but it seemed to make sense at the time.
Anyway, here are some of the shows we have watched recently.
The Office. LOVE that show...minus a few questionable episodes, but we really do laugh out loud when watching it. In fact, I don't know many people that don't like it. We didn't start watching it when it first came out. We were late Office bloomers and tried to pick up after it had started and just didn't like it, but then someone suggested we watch it from the beginning and it made all the difference.
Monk. Oh, how we love Monk. So sad that it's finished, but it's still a great show.
The Biggest Loser. I am a fan of the Biggest Loser. There is a lot of drama since it is a reality show, but it is one of the few reality shows that is good. I love the positive message that it has. I even have gotten Dan to watch a few episodes and he seems to enjoy it.
24. We finished all the seasons of 24 and LOVED it! We were hooked after the first episode. I don't know how you couldn't be hooked. It sucks you in.
Smallville. Now we are watching Smallville. It doesn't suck you in as much as 24 , (which is good since Dan has a lot of homework and studying, so we don't get as much TV time), but we still really like it.
There you have it. Thanks again for all the suggestions. We will have to try some of them out.
P.S. To answer some questions...I don't know exactly what my Valentine's Day/Easter gift will be. I just know that the budget for each holiday needed to be combined in order to get some of the things on our wish list. I am thinking of getting Dan a new suit. Don't worry, he already knows. I am not ruining a surprise. It may need to be more of a V-day/Easter/Father's day gift. Although, Uncle Sam is helping us out a bit (with our tax return $). I don't know what Dan is thinking of giving me. It better be good though. :)
P.P.S. Sarah, you may get lucky and I might post a picture of me in my old glasses. But I am still thinking about it. Maybe I'll post a picture of me in my skinny jeans wearing my old glasses. Now, there would be an interesting pic. :)

Weekly Randomness
- Tomorrow hopefully a little niece or nephew will make their appearance. I seriously can't wait any longer. I just want to hold a teeny little babe in my arms. There really is nothing like a newborn.
- Thursday, I started reading The Hunger Games. By Saturday I was begging my sister for the next book and I am more than half way through. I am not a big science fiction/futuristic book lover, but these books really are quite good.
- Valentine's Day was good. Our gifts to each other will be coming later. I think we may do one of those "combine the holiday gifts" things. For example, giving each other a Valentine's/Easter gift. That seems to be happening a lot lately, but it really does make more sense if the something you want is not on the cheaper end of things. Instead of two smaller gifts, why not get one bigger/more expensive gift?
- Although, we have opted to wait to give each other gifts, there was a beautiful bouquet of pink tulips sitting on my table.
- I think Alayna has enjoyed her V-day gifts as well, considering the toy from mom and dad has virtually not left her sight.
- Adam babysat (by babysat, I mean, did homework while Alayna slept) today without falling asleep. Good job, Ad.
- I'm just teasing. Adam really is a great babysitter. Why else do you think I keep asking him to babysit? Besides the fact I can pay him by feeding him.
- We're on the seventh season of Smallville and we're hooked. What will we do when we finish? Any good suggestions?
- I am forseeing some crafting in my near future. Maybe once my book is finished I will find enough motivation to finish some projects on my to-do list.
- I lost my glasses, only to find them three days later in the exact place Dan and I each looked, not once, but twice. I think Alayna must have taken them and just put them back. :)
- While my glasses were "missing" I got to wear my glasses from 10th grade. I was stylin' to say the least.

16 Months
16 months we have had this cute little girl. It simply is crazy that she is 16 months old. She is getting so big. I mean, look at this picture. Yikes! She is growing up so much.
Our little valentine all dressed up for church.Alayna is continuing to amaze us with all that she is learning. Although she hasn't taken off with the talking, she is learning a few words here and there.
Easton, All done or done, bye, moo, wee, and (heaven forbid) no, are a few that she has added to her vocabulary.
I keep waiting for the day that she just starts talking in complete sentences. Or at least two or three word sentences. I know that's how it will be.
Annie continues to be the movie of choice in our house. We watch it (or rather dance to it) at least once, but most of the time twice a day. And just so you don't think that I am a bad mother, she mainly is playing at the same time and tunes in for the song and dance parts.
I am a musical lover myself, so I am pretty darn happy that this is the movie that I have to see day in and day out, rather than some kid cartoon.
Alayna has even managed to convince Easton of the wonderfulness of Annie. He asks for it now when he walks in the door.
This is a reoccurring scene. The two little buddies hanging out...watching Annie and coloring. They really do love each other, even if there are a few tears here and there. Alayna even says his name now, which I am jealous of since she still has yet to really address me as mama. Sigh. (She says the word, just not really in reference to me.)While part of this last month, our little Layna was sick (it really is so sad to watch your little one be sick), we still did manage to capture a few smiles.
Playing "horsey" with Daddy.

Just because you're dying to know what I am thinking...
- I am in a crafting funk. I don't know why, but I am having a hard time finding the motivation to complete some much needed projects.
- We are in a routine. And by we, I mean our little family. Dan has been in school for 6 weeks and we are in the groove.
- I like routines. I really do.
- My sister is going to have her baby in a little over a week and the wait is KILLING me! Boy or girl? I just don't know.
- I bought my first pair of skinny jeans a couple of weeks ago. Shocking, I know. My sister, Sarah bought her first pair a little while ago and since she looked so dang cute in them I had to try them on for myself. Granted, I am no size 3 (like her) , but I took the plunge anyway. Maybe, if I am feeling brave enough, I will post a pic. Just maybe.
- We're a little over a month into the new year and I am doing pretty good with my goals. I could step it up a bit.
- Only two more months 'til nursery. Heaven help me.
- Over the past year, my nightmares have the same theme....my teeth falling out. I am not kidding. It is the worst kind of dream, to feel like all your teeth are gone. Weird, I know.
- Alayna has a shoe fetish and apparently I have a polka dot fetish. I recently have been noticing how many polka dot things are in my house. It all started when I was looking thorough the 18 month clothes that I have for Alayna and realized three of the four dresses were polka dot....
- Alayna has been babysat more in the last two months than in her entire life. Living close to family is awesome...for more than just that reason.
- Having said that, I feel that we are totally spoiled to have such great family that is willing to hang out with Alayna. It's kind of weird to have the option of dropping her off while I do whatever needs to be done.
I'll leave you with that.

There's no need to worry...
when you come home from a dentist appointment to find your "babysitter" (aka my brother, Adam) like this: He's got everything under control.
Alayna down for a nap.
Check.
