Happenings

Noticed we have been a little M.I.A. lately? Well, we have. Here's a little of what we have been up to:

  • We went on a little vacation. That's right. We took a little, and I mean little, break from the winter weather and replaced it with somewhat spring-ish weather. I actually didn't have to wear a jacket for two of the days. Gasp. A break from school and the norm was much needed. We visited family. It was fabulous.
  • I am having to learn to walk again. Strange, I know. Recently I have been having some health issues and found out that I need orthodics (shoe inserts), which I have just begun to wear. It's been an adjustment to say the least. My doctor says they can take up to six weeks to get used to. Heaven help me.
  • Remember my Valentine's Day/Easter/Mother's Day gift? We have finally figured out what it is. A computer. It's not really mine. It's also part of Dan's Valentines' Day/Easter/Father's day gift. We figured after five years, we needed to get one that's a little um, quicker. Once we get this this bad boy hooked up, there will be more posting. For example: Alayna's 17 month post that is almost a month late. Oops.
  • Alayna has been busy getting all four of her canine teeth. Nothing but excitement around here.
  • After returning home from our trip I was busily preparing for a hair bow class that I taught to some women in our ward. Thankfully it is over and it was a success, I think.

There you have it. A recap of the past couple weeks. Hopefully we will get the new computer up and running so I can share some details from our happenings.

I Can't Stop

eating these babies:

It's that time of year when the Girl Scouts bring little boxes of heaven to my door.
I almost can't stand the deliciousness.
Never mind, I can stand it. In fact, I really need to get control of myself.
I won't tell you how long (or not so long) it took me to make one of the boxes of Samoas disappear.
I have actually rationed out my cookies to make them last longer. Which will probably only last me a week. But at least it is a week of pure heaven.
It's probably a good thing they don't sell these all year long.
I would be in serious trouble.

Once there was a snowman

Here are some funny videos of Alayna doing the actions to Once there was a snowman (Her absolute favorite song).

By the time I even thought to pull out the camera she'd had about enough so she wouldn't do all the actions in one taping. Hence the two videos.

The first video she does the "melting" part quite well.
And the second video shows her doing the actions to the "tall, tall, tall" part.

Enjoy the cuteness. That is if you can drown out my loud, no-so-pretty singing.

Note to self: When holding the video camera, there is no need to sing loud because you are the closest person to the camera after all.

A member

Alayna has now joined the club of "people who like the swimming pool".

It's a shame she wasn't a member of the club sooner.

Like when we actually lived in a place that was sunny and warm for nine months of the year....

Instead of a place that is cold and wintry for 9 months out of the year.

But we'll take what we can get.

She was a bit tentative at first, but decided that she would give it a try.

And before we knew it, she was all smiles.

Image It really does make a world of difference when your child actually likes the swimming pool as opposed to the screaming baby last year.

A little video for the grandparents:

You know you have moved one too many times

when the lady that calls to see if you will sub for her primary class lives in a different town than you.

The sad thing is....I accepted and even had her email me the lessons. It wasn't until a couple hours later when I opened the email and realized that the kids that she listed as her class, did not live in Laramie. Needless to say, I called her back to let her know that I did not live in her town anymore.

That was a somewhat funny/awkward phone call.
