Gentlemens knockabout sloops

Here is the story of our conversion of an Etchells 22 racer into a very stylish daysailor. We also want the capability to weekend whilst not loosing too much performance. No small task anyway! Especially since our boat has many the ding, both front, back and side, is very minimal on space and is of pure racing pedigree. To quote another similar conversion…’it’s a bit like converting a porsche into a camper van’.

Your hosts are Sam and Nick Russell (of West Cork ale brewing empire fame, more recently taken over by nama due to recessionary times). So, with our last savings we are gambling on the resurgance of gentlemens daysailing in the west cork region, and have visions of tweed clad folk hacking around Bantry Bay scaring the seals. A vision indeed.
