Stupid passwords!!
I just downloaded a file and when I try to open it, it insists I need a password.

Okay, I think. I'll just follow the directions given to get a free password. I copy and paste the link and.... I get sent to a site that doesn't provide the password right away.

The instructions vary: Click on an ad (which there were none), fill in an application (after which I will be billed a ton of money - no clue about their refund process), or other ridiculous instruction.

So now I have a file that I can't open. How do I open it without the password? It's looking rather hopeless, but I thought I'd ask here.

CANADIAN PSYCHO'S!!!
Okay i've got a psychopathic exboyfriend and long story short, beat the shit out of me and took my 5 month old daughter and kicked me out with nothing to my name. (i'm taking him to court and all that..)i got an e-mail asking my to change my LJ password on an account i'm in the process of deleting. It sent me an IP adress is there anyway i can find out it's really him ???
please let me know what i can do..

Hack the DVD!
I just learned that most modern DVD's/Players have a means to prevent copying. I laughed as I heard this and thought, "there's got to be a hacker that has learned a way around this."

The reason this is important to me is that I'm trying to make a compilation video of an actor's best works/performances, but if there's a "lock" on DVD's preventing me from copying them from the disc to the computer, I'm pretty much outta luck.

Fortunately, I'm in no real hurry to learn the hack behind this, but I sure hope there's a reliable one out there.

Hi all. Was just wondering if anyone has checked out Hacktv here? I've seen the first 2 episodes...Kickass so far, love the theme song. However, I'll have to send them some constructive criticism; such as describing stuff just a little more, since not all of us hackers are nighted...Other than that, I think the show is awesome. What do you all think?

and also I need some white hats to contact me so I can have them test my site's security. I'm constantly finding security flaws and fixing them and I would love more help.

This site is constantly changing form and content. I'm using it primarily as a forum at work so i can talk to friends because I'm on my school server when at work (because I work for the school board) and they have the worse network security, it actually works a bit, lol. So I made my own site.

I have done my research on the subject and only get no where. I know .bat's can be harmless, but a friend and I make harmful batch files and then do them on a "test" computer (a real trash computer). If anyone knows about batch files, could you possible answer me the following: Is there a way to make a batch file create a folder, then 10 folders inside that folder, then 10 files in side those 10 files, and etc. till the HD is completely full of empty folders.

steganography programs?
I am doing challanges on both +ma's reversing and hackquest, and would love to know if anyone has a decent functioning stego detecting program. I have downloaded and few, but none of them seem to work well. I want something that would convert images and hex dump them looking for string contained with in. I am able to do it now, but I thought a program that would negate and hex dump, change to .raw and hex dump, etc might be cool.
Otherwise I guess I can try, but coding is a bit over my head right now.

I was recently presented with a "ethical" hack job. Just a fishing expidtion for info
it involves retrieving a password and it is a paid gig if anyone is interested :)

I am a Freshman at a College Prep school and my grades are really lacking. Trust me, I study more then more people I know, but my teachers are totally subjective. If anyone knows how to hack Gradespeed I would cry in joy. Seriously, any one out there. My school is Antonian College Prep(if it helps) and I need to go into my teachers gradebooks and change my grades slightly. Thanks a million.

Just making my introductory post here.. My name is Sal and I know C, and some Intel Assembly (x86). I use Linux as my primary desktop OS, since 1998. I have many interests, which are on my interests page, however some of
those have to be updated. I've taken an interest in the culture over the
years...I'm one of those people who can pretty much find out/learn
everything there is to know about everything else. Or that's what I try
to do anyway. As to whether or not it works or not, that's
