Mar. 25th, 2024 10:54 amI have collected all the notes left by the individual Scylla after Mission 012 that I could find available and uploaded them to the shared data repository.¹
According to Ms. Won in her post here, there are 10 in total, meaning that one note remains missing. If you are in possession of this note, please contribute it to the data repository. These notes are the biggest credible lead on getting to the truth of things that I've seen in my time here; I cannot emphasize enough how imperative it is that you share the missing document.
There are two sides to these pages, one side being narrative journal entries and the other complex higher-order math. I have been working with Accelerator (un: accelerator) on deciphering what we can of the mathematics, and we have drawn the following conclusion with reasonable certainty:² this is a mathematical representation of the inevitable decline and resulting destruction of the fabric of reality. In other words, it demonstrates proof of Echo's claim that worlds are falling apart from natural causes.
Based on my own knowledge of 20th century Earth scientific discoveries, this is plausible. The universe is infinitely expanding and at an accelerating rate, and though we have a poor understanding of the eventual consequences of that, that is a measurable fact.³ It appears whoever took these notes was working through the implications on their own with far more advanced instrumentation available than what is familiar to either Accelerator or myself.
Reviewing the text of the pages leads me to several further conclusions:
(1) These were most likely written by Echo themselves as they came to the mathematical conclusion I just described.
(2) The author demonstrates sincere remorse and went to incredible lengths to attempt to resolve this problem, but it was beyond their capabilities. If these are written by Echo, then they have become some kind of god-like being in their pursuit of saving worlds, but that still was not enough.
(3) Ultimately, they placed their hopes in the idea that if they could buy time, someone else could find a solution, whether it be a mysterious blacked-out name referenced in the entries or someone from a different world entirely.
(4) It is possible that our task to prove the 'worth' of our worlds is being measured on this scale, that of how likely our societies are to be able to address this problem, making it a pragmatic determination and not one based on any inherent qualities of 'worthiness' otherwise.
(5) The time scale on which this is all taking place is likely literally astronomical.
Furthermore, reports of conversations had with Scylla indicates it is highly likely that Scylla personally knows Echo. He stated in one conversation that the math was intended for our receipt and would have been provided by Aurora, but the journal entries were not, and he deliberately intercepted them and ensured their distribution throughout Etraya. Scylla intimated to Ms. Won that the pages reveal something about what he and Aurora are cursed not to speak of. What that might be, I'm unsure.
Most importantly, Scylla provided verbal confirmation to Ms. Won that he also believed the worlds are unraveling. All of these facts combined, I think we must take that as true going forward.
Please share in the comments any other inferences you feel could be reasonably drawn, and we may discuss further.
¹This was posted about recently, but if you haven't seen it, there is now a data repository available for communal use. It is maintained by Sunday (un: sunday) and myself (un: finch). Please contact us if you have any questions on how to make use of it.
²Certainty would, of course, increase with the final note included in our analysis.
³For further reading on the topic, I suggest Barbara Ryden's Introduction to Cosmology published in 2003. It is available at the library.

Feb. 19th, 2026 07:00 pm[Aerith could text and maybe she ordinarily would, but given that this is her very first time making use of Etraya's network, she decides she would rather own all of her words and let them be attached to a face.
So on she pops making a peace sign with her right hand just outside the Louvre in the Jardin des Tuileries.]
Helllooooo!
I've been here for a little bit, but this is the first time I'm giving a real hello. I'm Aerith, but I might have told you my name was 'Ree' or 'Ri' or some other variation of it. I sold flowers back home and maybe I might want to do that here, too? I'm not sure yet. It's nice to meet you!
A bit ago I was one of the people who came from Pollux and had been living with the fae for a few months, if you can believe it. I haven't exactly reunited with everyone who I had met while I was there, but I'd like to if you decided to come back with everyone else.
I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who was worried about me not making my way back. As you can see, I'm in one piece and one hundred percent here!
[She opts for not making any commentary on any of the dreams she had and the various people she might have reached out to in said dreams even before they found her on Pollux. That may just have to remain another one of those unspoken secrets that Aerith seems to carry.
She moves her video to show the gardens off.]
If you like flowers, you should come visit the Louvre. They aren't mine, but the very nice man who curates the museum is letting me help take care of them! Please come by and say 'hello;' they'd like that very much!
[When the camera moves back onto her, she lifts a finger.]
With that out of the way—I'm actually looking for someone. Back on Pollux there was a very nice man named Jean-Napoleon who said he was going to show me some more gardens here. I'm officially stating that I'm hunting you down and I would like to collect on this invitation!
And of course, I'd be very thankful for anyone who can point me in his direction!
[But also, you know, please come to the gardens—and her church—and say 'hi' to the flowers.]

Feb. 13th, 2026 11:03 pmI had not originally intended to make any formal announcement regarding my workshop. However, after seeing Sophie’s recent notice advertising her own establishment, I was reminded that certain opportunities are best stated plainly rather than left to rumor. With that in mind, I am opening a limited number of workshop roles and apprenticeship positions at my facility, Contingency Plan, located at Guardiandocks.
---
APPRENTICES, SPECIALIZED ASSISTANTS, AND COMMISSION LIAISON SOUGHT - CONTINGENCY PLAN
Location: Guardiandocks
Proprietor: Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III
About the Workshop
Contingency Plan is a private commission workshop dedicated to precision mechanisms, fine instrumentation, custom-designed devices, restoration of delicate constructs, and experimental craftsmanship requiring exceptional technical accuracy. Work conducted here is specialized, often singular, and demands patience, discipline, and refined hands.
Open Roles
- Precision Craft Assistants
- Fine Mechanism Assemblers
- Instrument and Device Restoration Assistants
- Drafting and Measurement Assistants
- Client Liaison and Commission Coordinator
- Apprentices (limited positions)
Apprenticeship Opportunities
Candidates who possess curiosity, patience, and a genuine desire to learn advanced craftsmanship are encouraged to apply, even if formal training is limited. Applicants without prior workshop experience should present a small drafted design, schematic, or blueprint of their own creation demonstrating attention to measurement, structural logic, or mechanical imagination. Apprentices will receive direct instruction in specialized fabrication methods, tool mastery, and commission-based workshop practices.
Client Liaison Position
Applicants with strong interpersonal skills may apply to serve as Commission Coordinator, responsible for greeting clients, clarifying commission requests, maintaining orderly records, and managing consultations that require tact and composure.
Application Instructions
Interested candidates should present themselves in person during consultation hours with:
1. A brief description of any prior experience (formal or informal)
2. Examples of prior handwork or a drafted schematic/blueprint (required for applicants without experience)
3. A short written note describing what they hope to learn or contribute
Applications are accepted only at Contingency Plan during posted consultation hours.
Those seeking routine labor should apply elsewhere. Precision, curiosity, and discipline are valued here.

Feb. 13th, 2026 10:13 pm(Let's just change the format for once. She prefers text, but variety is the spice of life or whatever, so, she shows up on video, wearing what is honestly just Every Day Getting Out Of The House To Get Mail Sophie, her rainbow money piece framing her face while the rest of her golden locks are in a braid. Make-up included to go with the hair, of course. Extraness aside, which if it doesn't exist, she died, she has a bright smile adorning her lips, she walks around the building.)
I was going to do my usual 'hello, it's Sophie Cuckoo, NYX stuff here' post, and then I realized I always text it, so, hi, this is me, this is NYX. This is basically a community event center. We hold all sorts of classes, engineering, arts, fencing, martial arts, and well, I was teaching ethics, but I closed that time slot for more one-on-one deals, so I guess if you need me to help with something, I'm super not hard to reach? Text, show up, or just think at me really hard, and that does it. Anyway! It's the usual. Wanna learn something specific, tell me and I'll see what I can find. Wanna teach and add to the community, let me know so I can fix you a classroom and a time slot, provide materials, and whatever the fuck else.
We also make food here. We have three cooks who, really, if you don't try their meals, you're super missing out, which leaves more for me, so, really, do whatever you want with that. We also deliver, so just contact me and I'll find a way to get it to you. Lunch and dinner on us.
(Okay, to the fun part. There's a wall that hasn't been painted in the surrounding garden area, along with all the mutant-centric art, untouched because they were getting to it back home, okay, stuff happens.)
Okay, cool, right, so, two things. First of all of them, this wall is boring, so I am inviting all of you to do something with it. Obviously, don't fucking think the entire thing is your canvas only, because that's fucking shitty, but leave a mark, draw a thing, write, kick it, and leave a shoeprint for all I care, but make a mark on it, I think that would be really cool.
Second thing — usual thing. Give me a situation, a dilemma, a problem, and I'll tell you what to do about it. I'm great at problem-solving. I also accept 'a friend of a friend of my cousin's on my uncle's side from my dad's side' situations, trust me, totally serious answers from me only.
See you guys!

Feb. 6th, 2026 04:04 pmSo, it's February. Normally it's one of my favorite months, but... this will be the first Valentine's Day I'm gonna be apart from my boyfriend, so... that's not feeling great.
BUT! I figure I'm not the only one in this boat, so I think I'm gonna do something rather than just sitting around feeling bad. What I'm thinking is a party where everyone gets a bucket of ice cream and we watch some trashy movies or something. Everyone would be welcome, except couples.

Jan. 21st, 2026 03:51 pmHello, everyone.
My name is Sandrilene, it's a pleasure to meet you all. As we have been warned about the darkness on our next mission I would like to offer assistance where I can. For anyone who wishes, I am able to make bracelets or other simple woven items that emit light. Please let me know if you would like one! I will make some in advance of the mission and bring my tools to make more while we are away.
Best wishes,
Sandrilene fa Toren

Jan. 21st, 2026 12:16 pmwhat's up girls gays and theys. before we head out on the most epic of fetch quests allow me to remind/inform you that your friendly neighborhood omega level telepath is available as a non-echo/aurora/whomstever the fuck monitored means of communication around these parts. those of you who may know sophie? i'm basically her but better in every way.
now. i know what you're thinking. no seriously i do. "who the hell is this guy and why should i trust him with my precious private brain thoughts? those are for me and my diary ONLY!!" valid question. allow me to supply my resume.
- avenger
- x-men
- x-force
- last omega level mutant standing in this dump
in summary: big damn hero and op as fuck.
services i can provide:
- telepathic comms (obvi)
- remote monitoring of team member locations and statuses
- scanning for all thinking life-forms within a given radius
- emergency contact for reinforcements/next of kin
pretty good deal, right? you bet your ass it is. okay okay, but where's the catch? what about rules? caveats? are there rules and are they reasonable? yes and yes.
my rules:
1. nobody whose name starts with "v". i'm biased and no i will not share why.
2. don't send me your spam. this is a professional line NOT a candy gram service.
3. i reserve the right to deny services for anyone whose brain stinks excessively. some of y'all are nasty.
okay peace out, hmu, like and subscribe

Jan. 17th, 2026 07:03 pm[Here’s Sciel, recording herself. She’s out in the wilderness, wisps of hair caught on the breeze, scarf loose around her neck, face a little flushed from the cold air. She laughs under her breath, holding the camera out at arm’s length; she’s sitting on the hood of a vintage off-road vehicle.]
Salut, mes amies! [A little wave. She speaks with a mild, pragmatic cheer:] In a week, we will be visiting Mesa, where we will be getting samples. Miserable business when you have to cut and run, but we’ll save whatever we can. And with that in mind… I wanted to go over a few very important things in handling plants, both for your safety, and for the survival of the specimens.
[She holds up a hand, raising one finger.]
One… gloves and long sleeves! Many plants secrete oily compounds that can start an allergic reaction. The smoother and shinier the leaves, the more likely you’re looking at something toxic. If you happen to touch something by accident, scrub your exposed skin with soap and water. Don’t scratch or put your fingers in your eyes or mouth, unless you want to risk a very bad time.
[There’s a dull thud of boots on metal as she shimmies across the hood of the vehicle, and she slides down to the ground. Chattering as she goes, and a second finger goes up:]
Two! If you must eat something, test each part against your skin first for a reaction. Roots, stem, leaves and flowers, test all of them separately. If you have no reaction, cook it and rub it on your lip. If there still isn't a reaction, you can try a very small bite. If you’re still fine after a few hours, you’re at much smaller risk than if you did no testing at all.
And with that said, you’ll need to know how to take samples…
[Sciel looks away from the camera for a moment as she focuses on grabbing some things from… somewhere, then she’s tromping across the fields, into a wooded area. She takes a moment to set the camera up where her worksite is visible. It’s a tree with peeling bark and bare branches, the best the winter can offer, but it’ll do.]
Now, I assume we’re not collecting samples in the dead of winter, so you’ll have to imagine I’m doing this with something fresher than a wintering tree… but the principles are the same! Listen carefully:
[This is followed by a candid but thorough explanation of how to take plant cuttings with a sharp knife. Her voice is warm, she makes jokes here or there, but it’s mostly to the point, delivered with the cadence of someone very used to teaching.
By the end, she has several cuttings of different parts of the tree, with notes for habitat descriptions, descriptions of the plant itself, its phenological state, miscellaneous observations –– the notebook she shows off is full of near-illegible chicken scratch, but she can read it, and that’s what matters.
And then she’s done! She smiles at the camera and gives a little gesture with her knife – ta.]
And don’t be a stranger! If you have any questions while you’re out there… I'm Sciel, and you can send me a message any time.

Jan. 11th, 2026 07:19 pmIf any of you have important information you want to share, Aurora made space for us to set up a data repository. It's for data, not inane crap like selfies, so don't bother trying to fill it up with garbage. Sunday is going to be running it, with Finch doing the back end stuff, so don't waste their time.
If you have any questions about it, Sunday will be around to answer them. We can dump data from the upcoming mission into it, so keep that in mind when you're collecting it.
If any of you fuckers have those suspicious diary entries then you can share it using the repository. I'm talking about the ones that are dated with really complex mathematical calculations on the back. Don't keep that shit to yourself, it might be the proof we need that Echo isn't just fucking with all of us. I can't overstate how important this is, some of us have been here over a year and we're still skeptical. From what I've seen of the math it looks really fucking promising.
((Details and depositing can be found over here! Both Sunday and Accelerator will be responding to this post. Sunday will be a lot kinder to people!))

Jan. 11th, 2026 02:51 pm[ The video starts with a boy in a baseball cap, wearing a bright grin and lifting a hand in greeting. An I-come-in-peace kind of greeting. He's in his bedroom, sitting on his unmade bed and while his room isn't messy per se (he hasn't been here long enough to accumulate a mess), there are a few shirts haphazardly draped over the back of his headboard. ]
S'up, Etraya? The name's Junpei Iori! I'm pretty new here. Still getting the lay of the land and all, but uh...
[ He rubs the back of his neck, glancing past the camera for a moment. ]
My birthday's on the 16th. Which I guess is operation day? So I'm thinking of celebrating early. Anyone wanna maybe...hang?
[ God. That feels so pathetic. Like coming on here and pretty much announcing he's a friendless loser. Junpei quickly pivots: ]
Or I guess you could just give some recommendations of good places to check out and party it up? What place has the best food or where can a guy get a good cake...that kinda thing? Yeah, sure. I can probably go find somewhere on my own, but the best reviews are usually word of mouth!
[ Junpei shifts, palms planted on his knees as he leans forward. ]
Sooo, lay it on me, folks. Where would you spend your sweet seventeen in this place?

Jan. 9th, 2026 08:57 amHello, citizens of Etraya.
Our next mission will begin on Friday, January 23rd.
You will be visiting a planet called Mesa for two weeks. This planet has been used as a sanctuary for countless different species, set up centuries ago by a society that no longer exists. The universe has been crumbling for some time, and Echo had to make the difficult decision to let it go. However, many of the species residing on Mesa are ones that have not been replicated across other universes, and Echo would like to preserve what they can of them.
You will be placed into teams and given assignments around the planet of DNA and items to gather. I will drop all of you off outside a facility a few of my companion bots have been working to outfit for your safety. This building has lights surrounding it, and I would like for all of you to be aware how important light is on this planet. There is no visible moon, and after the sun falls, the darkness is dangerous. Do not linger in shadows. Do not venture beyond where you are able to bring light.
Please stock up with as many survival supplies as you believe you would need for these two weeks. I will be opening the portal large enough to bring mid-sized vehicles through, so you may take with you any cars, motorcycles, chocobos, and other means of transportation.
Thank you,
Aurora

[Mayuko can be seen pacing outside of the Dhaliwal-to-Wall Bookstore in high spirits, as a quartet of chocobos observe the proceedings.]
You all, I cannot believe--I can't believe it! Hahhhh... okay, first of all! Happy New Year, if I haven't seen you in a few days. I occupied myself with a warm kotatsu and four days worth of auspicious-food-in-a-box, as one does. But then I ran out of reading material, which is why I started out here! BUT THEN!!!
[She gestures back at the large birds.]
These all started kicking up a fuss and wanting me to follow them and-- it's not the most impossible thing, I know, but we're going to head to the east of the bookstore, east of Mollymarlin's trolley stop and you're going to see something pretty great.
[She flips the camera away from her and begins walking towards some of the low hills that border the mountains of Mollymarlin. After some time, approaching the bordering river, she pipes up again.]
I guess this is going to be a heads-up, if you have been brought to other places before Etraya? Things from there can show up. For better or for worse.... OK, walking, we're walking and--
[She points to an opening in the hillside and goes up to it.]
( It's a Surprise~ )

Welcome to our bi-monthly CHIRPER post!
There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:
- Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
- When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya, or by other characters on behalf of their friends! This includes the Q&A section.
- Characters can either like or dislike others' CHIRPER profiles. These responses are public.
- This is voluntary on an OOC basis; if the character doesn't have a profile completed by themselves or anyone else, nothing shows up for them on CHIRPER.
- For those who do post a top level, profiles are worth 5 extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These 5 extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.
Please feel free to switch out any of the Q&A questions with those listed here!

Dec. 26th, 2025 06:40 pm[ The video feed shows a weary looking man who appears disoriented but in good health. He went from disappearing from Auriel to returning to his own world, living his life for a year, attending a somber matter in the realm of dreams, to returning to Etraya.
For anyone who knew him previously, Hob Gadling looks a bit different with a changed haircut and a beard, but it's undoubtably him. Looking into the camera, he offers a sheepish smile. ]
Hello. Uh, not that anyone probably noticed, but I took a little detour on the way back to Etraya. I went home. I'm not sure how much time has passed here since our mission to the fairy lands, but it's been a year for me. My name is Hob Gadling, and I'm just a man from Earth with some extraordinary stories to tell. Much of which I've kept to myself in the year and a half I've lived in Etraya prior to my trip home.
[ He shakes his head, as if removing the cobwebs after a deep sleep. ]
Anyway, I just wanted to say I'm back. Oh, and Happy Christmas. Or.. New Year. Whichever is closest.

Dec. 23rd, 2025 11:53 am[If anyone hasn’t seen Jayce within the past few months, he looks quite a bit different. His hair is longer, he has a beard, and doesn’t seem quite as full of energy as he might have in the past. He’s also not dressing as uptight as he used to— a lack of vest and tie, exchanged for just a simple button up shirt. The background is once again S.T.A.R. labs, although he’s not trying to hide it this time.]
Hey, Etrayans. For those new to this whole thing, welcome. I’m Jayce Talis. For those who came from Pollux, also welcome. I can say with full confidence Aurora’s better at this than Castor is.
[Aurora probably won’t appreciate that comment, but whatever. He stands by it. But that aside…]
I’m putting out a call for fellow scientists to come together and work collaboratively on research involving what we know about Etraya, and more importantly, what we don’t know. This could also include strategizing developments to improve our lives here, and solving problems with our understanding in our respective fields.
Something that we have here that we lack in our own worlds is the variety of perspectives. In my world, some of our greatest achievements are beyond what’s possible in other worlds, but we don’t have plastics or microwaves. Think of this as an opportunity for all of us to better ourselves, in this… transient existence we’re all stuck in.
Meetings would be here, in S.T.A.R. labs, every Thursday morning. No requirements if you want to participate other than an open mind, and a good attitude. No shooting down suggestions without hearing things out, and if you happen to have some sort of grudge against any of the participants here, you leave it at the door when you come in, or you’re not coming in.
[OOC: Feel free to threadjack around if you'd like!]

I've taken the liberty of using some points to request a static copy of Wikipedia be added to the network. For those unfamiliar, Wikipedia is an exhaustive collection of factual information compiled and verified by volunteers worldwide. You might consider it a digital version of the library.
For further information, I recommend the Wikipedia article on Wikipedia.
Notable features include:
(1) It is uneditable to maintain the integrity of the source information.
(2) You may, however, leave comments and participate in resulting forum-like conversations.
(3) All pages with information possibly pertaining to a resident's personal history have been removed to ensure privacy.
(4) This is a representative snapshot of Wikipedia from our collective source worlds where that is an internet-capable Earth. I'm told it's circa 2025 CE.
I do not intend to offer assistance in utilizing this resource, but the companion bots have a digital literacy module and should be able to serve in that capacity if anyone has a need.
Comments are left open for you to discuss amongst yourselves as desired. I will not be responding.
[ ooc: Feel free to start threads here about this development, or link to a Wikipedia page and indicate what your character would leave as a comment on it! Reply to one another! Do this any time, not just in this post! Snidely link others to Wiki articles instead of answering them sometimes! Note #3 is meant to indicate that fourth-walling is impossible from this.
Also, Harold wanted to disable comments, but Aurora disabled the disabling comments feature he tried to add. :( Anyway: Merry Christmas, Etraya! ]

Dec. 20th, 2025 10:43 pm[Today’s video feed is of a fit man in his early twenties and wearing his usual brown leather jacket over a red hoodie. He’s standing in front of a large auto repair shop. The shop’s front sign is also visible and says Grease Lightning! Next to the shop’s name is a black and white totally cool mascot.
For those who are especially observant, you may also notice a red-wing blackbird hanging around and making a nest near the shop’s sign]
Hey, so I don’t know how many of you need to know this but I run the auto shop now.
[Jason then walks and moves the camera to show the shop’s interior. It’s spacious and there’s a variety of equipment and basic spare parts needed to fix vehicles. Tucked in one corner of the shop is a books shelf already filled to capacity, a desk, and a chair.
The camera then switches back to Jason]
Not much else is gonna change. Feel free to drop by if you need repairs or wanna mod something. The place is big enough that you can do it yourself or if you want me to help, just let me know.
[The red-wing blackbird then suddenly zooms above Jason and lands near his bookshelf. Jason looks back at his pet mildly annoyed before turning back to the camera]
And don’t mind Steinbeak if you drop by. He likes his spaces.
( Action Prompt )
