A few things have happened...

Oh my gosh, the past month has probably been the busiest month of our lives. We have been on 3 getaways, Zions, camping and then Zach went to NYC with his brother. We have had many BBQ's celebrating summer and the 4th, we have also been using our pass of all passes and have been down at 7 peaks quite a bit!

Oh and we bought a HOUSE and moved in...which has been keeping me very busy with decorating and Zach very busy with yard work. I need to update on Buggie soon, she has change a lot in the past month as well. More to come next time...

6 Months

I can't believe Tay is already a half a year old, oh how time flies. We went to Dr Duffy to get her shots and she how she is checking in! Baby girl is 15.4lbs and sorry I can't remember her length, but she is tall and skinny (I know I was shocked too, those little chubby thighs don't look skinny to me). She is getting so big...the doc said she looks perfect!
ImageThe band aids from her shots.ImageYep chopped a lot of inches off of my hair...it was way over due! I should have done it a long time ago! ImageThis is what she did for the next 2 days. She was running a high fever (she always does after shots) and all she wanted to do was snuggle!ImageLast but not least...I am a little miss crafty pants lately. My latest masterpiece is this cute wreath made out of balloons! Isn't it cute! I LOVE it!Image

Mother's day letter to Tay

Image

Dear Taylee Girl,

As I rocked you to sleep tonight and looked down at your little face, I felt so over whelmed with gratitude and love. You see today is my first Mother's Day as a mother. I never imagined the love I could have for another person. It is the most selfless and purest love, a love I never knew existed. You are everything to me and I adore you! Your personality has really started coming out the past few weeks. I love everything about you.

You are a talker, you babble all day long! Not only do you babble, if you feel like it you full on yell. I love it, you are not afraid to show how you are feeling no matter what.

You are an observer, you have to study everything. I really hope you keep this trait throughout your life. Mommy wasn't like that and I made many mistakes by leaping before I looked. I hope you always keep this trait and observe situations as well as other around you. Maybe one day this trait will keep you safe as well as prevent you from making mistakes and suffering from a broken heart!

You are dainty, you have the sweetest features and I will never know how I (and daddy) made something so cute!

You smile when things are hard. No matter how tired, hungry, or grumpy you are you will always give us a smile! You are such a happy baby!

You are smart, of course just like every mother I am convinced that you a genius and super advanced for your age. You love learning new things.

You are my snuggle buggie. You love to snuggle with mommy at night before bed, you play with my hair, softly, as I sing you to sleep. You also always put your hands up to touch my face and then hold my hand as you fall asleep. My favorite time of the day is bedtime, because I know that for 15 min I can hold you in my arms and you that you won't be to busy for me. I cherish these moments, as I know that one day you will not want me to snuggle and rock you to bed.

You are beautiful and such a girl. You have the longest lashes and people comment on them everywhere we go. You love your hair bows and have found a new fascination with shoes...taking after mommy already!

Most of all I am so blessed to call you my daughter. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for the opportunity he has given me to be your mommy. I love you with all my heart and can not wait for the day that I can hear your little voice say "mommy". I hope you know I will always be here for you no matter what and although it might not always seem like it, I will continue to strive everyday to be the best mommy I can be. I will give you all that I can give.

I love you, sweet baby of mine. Thank you for making my Mother's day perfect!

Love,

Mommy

New things...

In the past month Taylee has grown and changed so much! She has become her own little person, she is strong willed and stubborn when it comes to certain things (both Zach and I being very stubborn, unfortunately she knew she was bound to be herself!) yet, she is the sweetest little thing the majority of the time. She is the happiest baby I think I have ever seen! In the past month Taylee has gotten 2 teeth, yes 2 teeth at 5 months. What the CRAP? She has gotten her first cold, I have found out that the cold that Taylee had was way worse on me than her! She could not breath laying down so I had to sit up with her and hold her the majority of the night, Mommy was very ornery the next day! Thank goodness for my mom who came over and watched her the next day so I could sleep! Also, she has been eating solids, which from the pictures below you can tell that she loves to eat. Apples and peaches are sour and she squints her eyes and shivers her whole body. It is so funny. She is also sitting up on her own! Wow...where has my little baby girl gone, she is getting so big!ImageImageImage

How cute is she...sorry I may be slightly bias...

Easter Bunny!

Oh my...things have been so busy around here. First off, I started working. I got so lucky and the perfect job basically just landed in my lap. I am a social worker for a home health company and I work PRN (or on a as needed basis). I will be working 5-15 hours per week and I get to choose my own schedule, not to mention I make more than I ever even knew a social worker could make so that makes it a million times better too! I love it so far. It is perfect for me and our family right now. I am so grateful I got the opportunity to get this job. I have always debated on whether I should work or not. On one hand I never wanted to leave Taylee with a baby sitter, but I worked really hard to get my master's degree and wanted to use it. It has worked out nice, I am able to work around Zach's schedule and my mom has been watching her a few times a week to help out which has also helped out a ton!

Image Now on to EASTER...this year was so fun having a baby to celebrate with. On Saturday we went to the Geertsen side for a Ham dinner as well as so croquet. I asked Zach to get my camera ready and get it in the car and of course he forgot so I have no pictures from that night. On Sunday the Easter Bunny came and delivered quite a bit of stuff for Tay. I was so mad that her Easter dress was way to big...it is 6 months and she is 5.5 so I though for sure it would fit. Oh well, she'll grow into it! Later, we went to my mom's for an Easter egg hunt, dinner, and a whole lot of toys and treats. Between the Easter bunny, my mom, and Taylee's great grandmas she got 4 Easter baskets!!!! What a spoiled 5 month old! Of course my mom went way overboard like she always does for all the grand kids, her house looked like Christmas in April! It was such a great weekend though! Happy Easter!!!

Traditions

ImageI can't wait for Easter...my mother instilled in me the importance of family traditions. I am in a panic though because I have searched and searched and to no avail I have not been able to find Taylee "her" Easter basket. I did pick up a cheap one up from target, but I want a nice basket that is sturdy and cute that can last her forever. My mom still gives me (and now Zach) my Easter basket that I have had since I was a baby, I love my purple basket. That is the only thing that is missing though. I have gotten Taylee all the things that we got for Easter every year which includes, an Easter swimsuit, and Easter dress, 2 outfits as well as sandals to match, a toy, books, and some baby food and snacks for her treats. My mom was upset that I wasn't going to get her peeps and the box animal crackers that are a staple for Easter in the Evans house. Don't worry my mom bought extra so I could give her some as well as getting some from her Gram. I am done, another tradition fulfilled (except for the perfect basket, oh well I will try again next year). Taylee can't wait for Sunday to experience the Evans Easter egg hunt and the spring tree. My mom has a special tree that every year during spring the tree grows candy bars...yes...candy bars! The kids think it is the greatest thing ever, and so do I ;)! Yay, for traditions, I honestly had the best holidays ever growing up and hope I can give Taylee the same joy. My mom is so creative and thoughtful it made every holiday so fun! She also does this for her Grand kids, I think she goes overboard for being a Grandma. Oh well at least my kids will get to enjoy it. However, I sure hope she doesn't show me up on holidays by giving her more than I do! Thanks mom, we sure love you for all you do!
Here are a few pictures from the past month...ImageOne of the few family pictures we have...
