• GLOBAL CDN: A Content Delivery Network stores various copies of your site’s images (and other content) at various key locations around the globe, meaning the round-trip for requests and download are significantly shorter. Often the transfer speeds of servers are less important than the “waiting for response” for each chunk of data – which is what add’s significant time to page’s load time. We partner with providers specialising in super-fast CDN services with the best connected networks in the world – like Google, AWS and Akamai – to ensure your content is stored on 6 continents, at every major point of presence – over 25 globally. This makes your site similar speeds to home country visit
• OPTIMISATION SUITE: Our EDGE servers provide pre-optimisation of several of your website’s elements – like minifying CSS, Java, defer, async, removing excess code etc – the kind of thing you’d need a few cumbersome plugins to achieve, or some nifty coding. You can customise all of this from within your control panel (and some from within a WordPress Plugin)
• AUTOSCALING – Shared hosting systems are usually affordable by putting multiple website on one platform (sometimes on one server!) – so when your website is busy, or several sites are, there’s often a performance drop. We counter that by automatically firing up additional servers of each type to cope with extra demand – so ensuring your site is always fast and responsive, whether you have 1 visitor or 1000 at a time. This is enhanced with autoscaling EDGE, web and database services on our cloud partners platform (which also provides failover resilience for our own networks)
• DISTRIBUTED DNS:Our DNS system is globally distributed on the Google DNS platform -which, like a CDN, makes DNS requests more local to the visitor and hence quicker. It also means that there are hundreds of DNS servers rather than just 3 or 4!

Ensuring your site is secure is a major priority – more and more nowadays. With over 25 years experience in web hosting, we ensure our network, our servers and your site is safe and protected as much as possible

• WAF: We run two levels of Web Application Firewalls on both our EDGE servers and Web Servers. These protect your site from malware, hack attempts and exploits using over 1000 signatures, updated regularly to counter new threats as they emerge.
• MALWARE & VIRUS SCANNING: We scan your website files daily to detect, remove and disable any known malware using a mixture of commercial and open-source malware detection suites, updated daily to protect against new variants and threats. You can also run these scans manually, say after a new upload or update.
• DDoS PROTECTION: If your site or our servers become the victim of a Distributed Denial of Service Attack our load balancers detect this and blackhole the requests offsite whilst attempting to maintain access to your site for legitimate visitors. Provisions for this are in place for up to 2Tbps of DDoS protection – more than enough to cope with even the largest DDoS attacks you’re likely to face.
• FREE SSL – A 256 secure certificate is automatically applied to keep your site and the data transmitted secure over the internet – essential for admin login and parts of your site where customers login (ecommerce etc). We update these for you every 60 days to help prevent SSL hijacking or other SSL exploits.
• SECURITY PROTOCOLS: Key to any organisations security is the practices and processes it employs in everyday operation. We keep our servers up-to-date, have automatic and manual checking in place and ensure our Firewalls are penetration tested monthly. Our datacentres all have the highest security, including ISO27001 security – with our core network being located in one of the most secure buildings in Europe (Telehouse London) 

We provide multiple automated backups of your website to ensure continuity and give you the ability to roll-back easily to any point in time.

• 30 day SNAPSHOTS: Automatic on-site snapshots created every day for web files and databases. You can restore easily with one click or perform your own snapshots at any time. Snapshots are replicated offsite for redundancy.
• 12 month backups: For PRO and ULTRA packages we also keep a 12 monthly backups of your site in two backup locations
• Failover: Because of the way we’ve design our HAstacks platform, we have multiple replication and failover systems in place to ensure uptime, including servers, RAID storage disks and mirrored storage engines, both onsite and offsite.
