The Process of Articulation Therapy
1 year ago
Tyler and I went on our first cruise with the rest of the Hanks family in February! We were so excited as we counted down the weeks. Dad Hanks was paying and sending all the Hanks kids and spouses to Cozumel on the amazing Triumph. (that didn't end up being so amazing in the end) The picture above is before all the mayhem started. As you know there was a fire in the engine room which wasn't far from where we were staying. Our rooms were smoke filled and we ended up sleeping in a lounge. We encountered pee dripping from the ceiling, urine soaked carpets, onion and cucumber sandwiches along with many other interesting food combinations and a whole lot of unsavory things! We stood in line for 4 hours for hamburgers one day and they tasted sooo good! We drifted around the Gulf of Mexico for a few days and they were finally tugged back into Mobile Alabama. Our 3 day cruise turned into a 7 day cruise. We missed our kids so much and spoke to them only once with the limited communication. We had wonderful family and friends that took care of our kids and we felt so blessed that they were in such good hands. We missed Maggie Mae's bday on Valentines Day and that was sad:( I just kept thinking I hope someone remembers its her birthday and tells her HAPPY BIRTHDAY and of course wonderful neighbors and friends went above and beyond to make sure she had a great day! Lessons learned from the carnival triumph:
Watch where you step/
Travel in groups/
When you find a working toilet use it/
Family=safety/
Always have someone guard home base/
The power of the priesthood works on a carnival ship even in the middle of the gulf of Mexico/
We can survive without electronic devices (who knew)/
You can live off of mini cereal boxes/
Coast guard ships carry large weapons/
Texan people are AWESOME/
My brothers are really killer at music trivia/
My mom looks great in a bathrobe/
My husband is a survivor/
My sister in laws look spectacular without make-up/
I love my FAMILY (those I was with and those little kiddos left behind)/
Day to day normal life...although it sometimes feels like groundhogs day is so so good!
Below is the pic after the mayhem:) Yes we kept those robes!!!
