The Perfect Picture

All we wanted was a picture of the kids in front of the Christmas tree with their Santa PJs on...  Over here Eleanor! Ahhh!!! Not the tree. Where are you going? Escape! "I'll hold her!" Got an itch... Finally... A keeper! And off to bed to wait for Santa… after we delete the 52 other photo bloopers we didn't post...

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas…

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around the Jensen household! And, we don't even need any snow. We've got two holiday elves… Ready for some festive mischief...   We weren't touching, promise! Stocking thief… to be fair, isn't this what stockings are REALY for. Watch out for the Grinch! The kids are enjoying the decorations, holiday music, nativities and all the fun Christmas activities on the schedule. Our attempt to make salt dough ornaments was a bit of a bust. But, the sugar cookies this weekend turned out great. And, Adelaide was able to give us all a master class in the art of the sugar cookie. Frost your cookie and pour on the sprinkles.  Seriously, pour on those sprinkles!  If it's not a two inch tall pile, you aren't doing it right...  After picking as many sprinkles off as  she could with her fingers, Eleanor licked  them off. It took us a while to convince  her the cookie w...

Thanksgiving Week

What a week! We have so much to be grateful for... We're still recovering from our move. On Monday, the moving truck arrived with all of our things. Melinda's mom came out to help by distracting the kids with hours of playtime at the park while Melinda directed the movers and checked off boxes. We're still digging our way out… and probably  will be for a couple more weeks. Normally, we wait until after Thanksgiving to put up our Christmas decorations. But, since those boxes were on the top, Melinda and the girls made unpacking them a priority.   It was a lot more fun unwrapping ornaments than silverware. Hanging them with care.  Frosty the Door-man. We were lucky to be able to spend a couple hours catching up with Klisa, Jameson, Sally and Joe Plicka before heading up to Melinda's parents house for a Thanksgiving weekend and much-needed break from the stress of the move. What a difference a few thousand miles makes...

We hear that winter storm Boreas is unleashing a whole load of FREEZING on the East Coast right now…Brrrrr… It's cold here in San Diego too. At least, we think it must be. When Melinda takes the kids to the park in the morning, all the other mothers are dressed in fuzzy boots, chunky sweaters and warm hats to brace themselves against the chilly, 64 degree morning temps. Bundled up as our new neighbors may be, we have yet to unpack the jackets. We still have our east-coast stamina and are loving the splendid weather. What a difference a few thousand miles makes, are we right? Before "Mommy, I'm cold.  Can we go get some gloves?" After Less than a week in nice weather and Eleanor has already given up on shoes and pants. So, we're loving our escape from the east coast winter weather. That isn't to say there isn't a lot we miss about our old home. We're already nostalgic about our favorite organic market, Mt. Vernon's...

Lots of unpictured cleaning, packing and not so much sleeping. BIG shout out to Beth for picking us up at 4 am to take us to the airport.  Cheery little travelers - 10 minutes in  and the bribes dolls are working so far. Kiss, Kiss, I love my dolly.  Ready to board! Princesses safely stored in the carry-on. DC to Atlanta flight? Easy, easy. Eleanor slept and Adelaide played with her doll.  Atlanta snack break!  Atlanta to San Diego flight off to a good start. Oh no! The baby is awake, quick, do something. Want to listen to some business...
