TOKYO!

music: unwritten law
the last city i visited in asia was tokyo. that city was definitely an adventure. we were on this tour where they brought us from place to place to place; we hardly had time to rest unless it was in our tour bus or in our hotel room (we stayed in 4 diff hotels since we kept traveling so much - tokyo is THAT big! one of our hotels even had the traditional tatami rooms, where we slept on a tatami bed (futon on the floor) so that was pretty neat.
some of our stops included:
-the mega web toyota showcase
-the asakusa shrine (where there were tons of buddhist temples)
-a traditional bathing spa (including a communal section as well!)
-the fujiten ski resort
-fujikyu highland amusement park (SO FUN, they had the world's longest haunted house there!)
-DisneySeaPark (no matter how old i am, i will always love going to disney theme parks!)
-shibuya district @ night (I LOVED IT!)
-ginza district (they had THE BEST adidas store i've ever seen, plus this restaurant that made THE BEST RAMEN!)

( + 16 from GinzaCollapse )

Hawaii Pics!

We were in Oahu, Honolulu, Waikiki Beach to be exact (a VERY tourisey area). The weather wasn't that great, it was pretty cloudy most of the time, but it was still warm enough to go to the beach. There were a gazillion Japanese tourists there, I think they made up the majority of the population in Honolulu. I love the fact that people can just wake up in the morning and walk to the beach barefoot to go surfing. I noticed there was also an 'ABC' convenience store EVERWHERE. the pineapple was also the best i've ever tasted...they even serve that at mcdonalds.
We also did the whole tourist thing - Pearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural Center which was pretty neat. we also went to a macadamia farm, where we sampled macdamia nuts and coffee made from homegrown coffee beans. yum!
anyways, here are a few from waikiki beach:

BOSTON PICS!
These were taken on the last day i was there (saturday). it was a brisk winter day and i had a couple of hours to kill before going to the airport so i took a walk around.....
i wish i had more time to explore, this city, from what little i've seen, has been quite the city! i love how oldstyle all the buildings were in the neighborhood i was in. the atmosphere was also very energetic and youthful.

the view from my room at the hotel commonwealth....

ghetto sunrise

energetic
music: bush - inflatable
the best part about going to work early is seeing the sunrise from the east. i call it the ghetto sunrise, why? cuz it comes over the NE area of the city, aka 'the ghetto' area. anyways, i have the perfect view from my desk - btw, the original pic is WAY better, but fotki likes to shrink their images for external servers >:X

after the sunrise, it aint so pretty anymore.
