BS Essay Of The Week
It's a dumb essay.. It's supposed to be informal and about my study habits. Well, I don't really have any study habits. And I also hate informal essays. So, I BS'ed it like always, and I don't care.

It's Monday night, a four-day weekend is just ending, and you have your first essay of the year due tomorrow! Now if you're like me, you start scrambling around trying to figure out how to complete this essay at the very last minute. A lot of today's teens lack the ability to recognize good and bad study habits. As a student, it is important for you to recognize what habits work best for you, and which do nothing but drag you down.
I haven't actually tried many study habits and checked to see if they worked for me. I am the type of student that takes only the notes teachers say I should, and then I study them for a couple minutes before I need them. For bigger assignments, such as final exams, I will take the notes that the teacher has given me and then I will study them at home if I feel that I will struggle on the exam. There is no special environment or way that I study for these larger assignments.
When preparing to study, it is important to be able to identify distractions that affect your ability to study. When I do occasionally put effort into studying, some distractions that I have discovered are friends talking, music playing too loudly, and the bus being too bumpy. These distractions are easy to overcome by simply managing my time better and studying while I was at home and/or turning off the music for a while. However, avoiding these distractions becomes difficult when you lack the motivation to get your studying done while at home.
The process of eliminating the possible distractions that I've encountered while studying has not been of much success. There are many more distractions than the aforementioned list, however, to list all of them would be impossible. Trying to improve my study skills is hard, for the simple reason that I put other things ahead of my studies. So while I'm sitting on my computer, or any other number of countless distractions, my study habits are pushed aside and deemed not important to me.
For me as a student, I can recognize what characteristics are dragging me down in my study habits, and which are boosting my education. There are many new distractions in the world that prevent teens from exercising good study habits. However, if you are able to recognize what is holding you back, you can start to change your study habits positively. Who knows, maybe the next time you have an essay you'll be finishing it before the due date, and you'll even have extra time to kick around doing nothing.
