Fairness is defined by five principles of fair platform work. Companies are assessed using rigorous academic methods, with all evaluated against the same standards. They are given a chance to respond and provide evidence, earning points only if they meet the criteria for each principle. Learn more about Fairwork's methodology.

Workers, irrespective of their employment classification, should earn a decent income. They should be paid on time, and for all work completed.

Location-based platform work

Location-based platforms offer services like food delivery, ride-hailing, domestic work, beauty services, house repairs and more. We evaluate the working conditions of these platforms and rank them based on five principles of fair platform work. We have produced national rankings in 38 countries across 5 continents.

Cloudwork is work that can be performed online from anywhere in the world. This includes small tasks like filling in surveys and training AI systems, to freelance services like translation, web development or design. We rate the working conditions on major cloudwork platforms in line with five principles of fair online work.

From chatbots to monitoring systems, companies are increasingly rolling out AI systems on their employees. Fairwork has developed a set of principles to guide the fair use of AI systems in the workplace. We use these principles to monitor and evaluate the deployment of AI systems in workplaces across the world.
