The earth gives us so much, and giving back is easy. The least we can do as a green technology business is practice carbon-neutral techniques and help replenish what’s been lost. Each year, Fairwind Creative proudly contributes a portion of our earnings and volunteer time to organizations making huge strides to conserve our planet.

Nurturing
Global Reforestation

To support global reforestation, Fairwind has planted hundreds of trees through One Tree Planted. With projects across the world, the organization restores ecosystems by planting native trees chosen for adaptability and long-term survival. In 2022 alone, they planted nearly 53 million trees worldwide. Trees absorb carbon, release oxygen, and create the foundation for biodiverse ecosystems while providing shelter for countless species. Yet forests are disappearing at alarming rates as human activity accelerates deforestation and biodiversity loss. This destruction increases climate instability and raises risks of disease outbreaks. One Tree Planted helps turn the tide by making it simple for individuals and businesses to give back, one tree at a time.
Promoting
Wildlife Education

Since 1987, the Northwest Wildlife Preservation Society (NWPS) has worked to conserve wildlife in the Pacific Northwest. Their main focus is delivering free wildlife education and stewardship programs across British Columbia, particularly to disadvantaged groups. While much of their work is with children and youth, NWPS also serves diverse audiences such as public and private school classes, summer camps, youth groups, retirement homes, First Nations, and newcomers. By fostering personal connections with nature and inspiring a sense of responsibility, they help develop future leaders who will protect the environment. NWPS ensures wildlife is preserved not only for its intrinsic value but also for the benefit and well-being of generations to come.

Animal Advocation

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare through advocacy, shelter services, and public education programs across British Columbia. Its Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (Wild ARC) focuses on caring for injured, sick, orphaned, and distressed wildlife, with the ultimate goal of releasing recovered animals back into their natural habitats. Over 80% of the animals treated are affected by human activity, from collisions and pollution to habitat loss. To reduce this impact, Wild ARC educates communities about animal welfare, coexistence with wildlife, and sustainable living practices. Together, the BC SPCA and Wild ARC provide critical care while empowering the public to become active stewards of both domestic and wild animals.

Seaforestation
Protecting oceans is critical for a healthy planet, and Ocean Wise champions this mission through research, conservation, and education. They’re making waves with seaweed—one of nature’s most powerful yet overlooked climate solutions. Fast-growing species like kelp can grow up to 30cm daily, creating towering underwater forests that absorb carbon, release oxygen, and buffer surrounding waters against acidification. These ecosystems provide food and habitat for species such as herring, otters, and sea lions, while supporting global biodiversity. Farming and restoring seaweed offers sustainable jobs for Indigenous and coastal communities, along with nutritious food and low-carbon materials like bioplastics and methane-reducing animal feed. Ocean Wise demonstrates how ocean-based solutions benefit both people and nature.
Protecting
Endangered Species

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, working to safeguard nature and address the planet’s most urgent environmental challenges. Since 1961, WWF has operated in nearly 100 countries, partnering with governments, communities, and businesses to protect wildlife, habitats, and natural resources. Their efforts span tackling climate change, supporting sustainable food systems, and conserving oceans and forests. A central initiative includes protecting endangered species such as tigers by restoring habitats, combating poaching, and supporting local communities living alongside them. Through advocacy, education, and field projects, WWF inspires action to secure a future where people and nature not only coexist, but thrive together on a resilient planet.
Supporting
Sustainable Ecosystems

The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit with over 30 years of experience driving sustainability and improving the well-being of rural communities. They understand that the health of people and ecosystems is deeply connected. By harnessing the power of social and market forces, the Rainforest Alliance protects nature while promoting fair livelihoods for farmers and forest communities worldwide. Their work focuses on four key areas: forests and biodiversity, climate, rural livelihoods, and human rights. Through certification programs, partnerships, and advocacy, they help transform supply chains, promote responsible land management, and create a more sustainable global economy. The Rainforest Alliance envisions a world where people and nature thrive in harmony, benefiting future generations.
