Challenge Entry 2 and eclectic mix

From AdamC: Gunfighter, Chaos Cruisers, Anglo-Dutch Warships and Japanese warships (85 Points)

Image
First up a lady gunfighter a 3D print from Bloody Scotsman Games for Devil in San Miguel. They aren't selling miniatures any more but you can buy at least some of their games.

Image
I made her outfit vaguely US cavalry, perhaps a sutler or camp follower of even a woman scout.

Image
I'm please with how the skirt pinstripes came out.

Image
A pair of Battle Fleet Gothic Chaos Cruisers. These are 3d prints, not the originals.

Image
I came up with theses colors purple and bronze with black, seemed like they would be striking.

Image

Image
Ships are sort of my thing. These are Anglo-Dutch wars vessels for the game "Mad for War"

Image
This first is a Dutch frigate

Image
Then we have two 50-gun English ships of the line

Image

Image

Image
In this era the 50 gunner is a true line of battle ship not the awkward isn't a ship of the line isn't really a frigate it will be in the more familiar Napoleonic period.

Image

Image
We also have an English frigate.

Image

Image
I wouldn't call these my best work but they should be OK on the table top. The print weren't as good as some I have worked with and there is less art for inspiration showing how individual ships looked in this period. If anyone has a good source I would welcome the info.

Image
Two Kamikaze class Japanese destroyers

Image
These were state of the art in the 1920s but clearly second line units by the Second World War,

Image
Still they saw a lot of action in the war. Early in the war the Japanese tended to have red Hinomaru, often called "meatballs" by the Americans, for identification usually on the turrets but as these are open gun mounts I put one on the top of the bridge. Such recognition is clear sign you fear friendly fire from your own aircraft more than you fear the enemy aircraft (rightly or wrongly). Its a fun distinctive look even if it was sort lived.

Points :
1x 25mm figure for 5
2x chaos cruisers for 16 points (counted as a 15 mm vehicles I believe )
4x Anglo-dutch wars ships for 60 points (these are similar in size to the Black Seas ships I did in the past at 15x points each)
2x 1/2400 ships for 4 points (2 each I believe)

Total: 85 points

========================================

Sylvain: Adam, you offer us a very eclectic selection of models. I especially like your BFG chaos cruisers. Their esthetic is very unique and your paint job enhances their menacing look. You will definitely keep naval wargaming alive. Joli travail!

Battle of Buzenval October 1870

Image
Out side Paris the French prepare a flank attack

Image
French come boiling out of the woods into the Prussian forces.
Image
a second village falls to the flank attack.
Image
The Zouaves take the 3rd Village!  The Opening moves have been very successful so far
Image
The cavalry are wiped out trying to assist
Image
Then comes the savage counter attack.
Image
Followed by much firing on both sides.
Image
Artillery is doing horrible execution on both sides.
Image
French artillery is having a surprisingly good day
Image
at the end of 5 turn the French are holding their own but its still Prussia game to lose
Image
after seven turns the battle has raged back and forth neither side can get a clear advantage.... The Prussians hold a slight edge but the French have been pressing the attack.
Image
Then Prussian artillery finally wakes up and delivers and serries of devastating blows.  Routing two French units in one turn. Then the Zouaves launch and deserted attack giving me three of five villages.  We call it a draw as both sides are exhausted.

Dismounted knights and Swiss Halberdiers class in the town
Image
Charge! The Gendarmes crash into the Billmen
Image
Swiss Pikes finish off the Billmen.
Image
Its a savage and far raging fight the imitative for next round will be key and I get it and my leader gets 4 commands.
Image
Forward drive the Swiss and Gendarme
Image
My leader rallies the the halberd troops and leads them forward.
Image
The counter attack is savage over running on of my gendarmes
Image
Its looking pretty good...

Image
Then Everything changes.... and my enemies rally....
Image
The Italian foot charge desperately in and reestablish the balance in the center....
Image
The struggle enters int final desperate phase. My enemy gets the initiative... and leads a desperate charge that fails.  The Two Generals meet in hand to hand combat and
Image
I am victorious by the slimmest of margins.
