I've signed a good few online petitions over the years - but there are some I won't sign because there's only a very brief summary of the text and a "sign this petition" button. I've now set up a petition asking for it to be compulsory for all sites with online petitions to link to the full text of petitions without having to click a "sign this petition" button.

Needless to say the link they have sent me DOESN'T say that it's a link to the text, rather than making you sign, but I've checked and it does just link to the petition page.

Want to be the second to sign? Press the link below if you dare... And yes, I know that there's a missing "to" in the title of the petition, I noticed too late and can't change it...

This is another fantasy bundle described as an "old-school hexcrawl campaign," in which the characters are given a ship and a dead master, and have to make the best of things: "You were thralls. Now your master lies dead in the bottom of a raiding vessel, equipped for adventure. You are free."

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/WolvesCoast

Image

This probably isn't for me - I've more or less given up on fantasy games completely, and if I was to come back to them I'd probably be looking for something more exotic. I'm also trying very hard not to laugh at one of the three islands that are the heart of the campaign, which for some reason is named Ruislip - for those outside the UK, ours is a suburb of London just to the north of Heathrow airport...

Having said that, this looks playable if you like this sort of  thing, it's just not my cup of tea.

Underground and aerial fantasy adventures from Aaron A. Reed, the second edition of Downcrawl (going downwards) adding Skycrawl, for the upwardly mobile.

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/Downcrawl

I'm probably not going to find this useful, but if you run fantasy adventures it may be worth a look - it's cheap and seems to have some fun ideas.

Yesterday I was wondering if I should sell on my USB Zip drive and remaining disks (100 and 250 megabyte capacity) because they're too small and unreliable to be useful and I last needed to recover data from one about a decade ago. But I decided against it for the same reason I always do - if I ever need it it would cost a small fortune to get a replacement.

And as if by magic, today's [syndicated profile] daily_illuminator_feed has a link to someone's project to build a USB drive based on bubble memory with a staggering 128 bits of memory. For comparison, the first three words of this post, with spaces and the space after the third word, are 16 characters = 128 bits, the whole capacity of the drive... which looks larger than the main board of most computers!

The Illuminator post is here - https://www.sjgames.com/ill/archive/2026-02-12

The project is here - https://blog.adafruit.com/2026/02/02/a-128-byte-core-memory-module-as-a-flash-drive-raspberry_pi/

This is a repeat offer of the cyberpunk RPG Neon City Overdrive from Peril Planet, last offered in May 2022

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/2026NeonCity

Last time I said "Since I received this at about midnight and it only runs for a week I haven't had much time to take a detailed look. It's a system that looks reasonably playable, it's drawing on all the usual cyberpunk sources, and it's pretty cheap. I'm not sure I actually NEED another cyberpunk game, given how many I already own, but if you just want to dip your toes in the water I think it's worth a look. The usual caveat - I get to see this stuff without having to pay for it, if you don't your mileage may differ."

Since then I've taken a more detailed look - artwork is good (and credited to humans, not AI), and mostly avoids the tropes of the genre. Layout is a bit flashy but readable, and there is an emphasis on story-telling rather than rules. I think it's definitely a good one for a quick look at the genre.

This is a bundle of two-player RPGs for Valentine's day, the fourth such offer from Bundle of Holding. They come from a variety of authors and publishers, genres range from Georgian romance to far future exploration and horror

 https://bundleofholding.com/presents/ForTwo4

Image  Image

This isn't really my preferred style of play - I prefer a larger pool of players - but if you like a more intimate approach to gaming the bundle is pretty cheap and may be worth a look. My personal favourite from these is probably Retired: The Ordinary Life of a Former Supervillain, which looks like it could be a lot of fun, and might be expanded to a larger group of characters, but several others look entertaining.

A bundle of "system neutral" material for fantasy thieves from Human Gorilla Creations

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/HumanGorilla

Image
  Image

This isn't something I particularly need but it's relatively cheap, nicely presented (with most art apart from maps etc.) from antique sources, and seems to have a sense of fun, as witnessed by the titles of some of the books. If you're running this sort of adventure it's worth a look.

This is the Forbidden Psalm Bundle featuring the OptimisticNL 28mm miniatures games compatible with the Mörk Borg RPG, an old-school fantasy system:

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/Forbidden

Image
  Image

This is the first set of miniatures rules I've seen in these offers in a fair while, but the Mörk Borg connection unfortunately means that these rules share that system's somewhat idiosyncratic ideas of layout and typography, which in my case usually gives me a headache. If that's not going to put you off, and you want miniature rules, it may be worth a look.

This is an offer of material from multiple publishers compatible with the RPG Shadowdark, a modernized "old school" game of dungeons, monsters, etc.

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/ShadowCompat

Image
  Image

This doesn't include the Shadowdark rules, but you can get a free Shadowdark Quickstart Set from Drivethru RPG.

I'm not really into dungeon-bashing games any more, but Shadowdark is apparently state of the art for the genre, and this bundle adds a lot of adventures at a reasonable price. If you're into the system it's probably worth a look.

This is a crossover between the Harry Potter books, the Buffy The Vampire Slayer TV series, and the film Bedazzled (1967, not the 2000 remake), with some other crossovers and Easter eggs, so far including Dogma (1999) and Time Bandits (1981). All characters belong to their respective creators / owners / megacorporations of doom and not to me, please don't sue...

This is a bundle of material for Dead Air, a zombie apocalypse RPG from Italian designers The World Anvil Publishing - all books are English language.

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/DeadAir

Image  Image

It's inspired by material such as the recent series The Last of Us, and it's fairly clear from the outset that a campaign in this setting will probably not have a happy ending. The aim seems to be to make the best of things before the inevitable doom. Not really my preferred style of play, but if you like things apocalyptic it's a cheap bundle and nicely presented.

This is an offer of the Sleepy Hollow RPG from Kids in the Attic, an early 19th-Century folk horror system based on the Year Zero rules for Tales of the Loop etc. The source for it is Washington Irving's original novel, not the Tim Burton film or the TV series.

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/SleepyHollow

Image  Image

Unlike Call of Cthulhu this system limits itself to a relatively small area and era, which may add more depth to games - characters will be protecting their home town, friends, and families, not the entire future of the universe. I'm probably not going to be taking on another horror system, but it looks like an interesting game and isn't incredibly expensive, if it's the sort of thing you might like it's probably worth a look.

Another article I forgot to link to when I uploaded it several years ago - a scheme to build a huge pyramid, monument and tomb in London, from the Strand Magazine April 1903

https://forgottenfutures.com/library/monument/monument.htm

If I'd ever completed Forgotten Futures 12 one of the adventures would have started with the reconstruction of this monument after an interstellar war, and an eventual interplanetary hunt for Mad Empress Margaret, the theoretically dead empress of the Anglo-Saxon Empire who built the thing and was responsible for several projects that were somewhat dubious, such as changing the tilt of the Earth's axis to give Britain a better climate.

A repeat of the Arden Vul Bundle, featuring "the vast megadungeon from Expeditious Retreat Press", last offered in 2022.

 https://bundleofholding.com/presents/2026Arden

Last time around I said "Really not my cup of tea, but if you like this stuff there seems to be an awful lot of it!" - I don't see any reason to change that.

This is a new bundle of material by  Christian Eichhorn for Mörk Borg RPG

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/EichhornMork

Image  Image

Unfortunately I'm really not the intended audience for this game - I don't do grimdark, and I usually find that the layout and typography of Mörk Borg material gives me eyestrain and headaches. This one is slightly better than others I've seen in that respect, but unfortunately that isn't saying a lot. If you like this material the price isn't unreasonable, it just isn't for me.

This is a bundle of  The Painted Wastelands, a "prismatic pastel realm from Agamemnon Press for use with Old-School Essentials and other tabletop fantasy roleplaying game retroclones."

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/Painted

Image  Image

I'm pretty sure that this one isn't for me, but it seems to be more imaginative in its approach than most of the "old school" material I see, and it's fairly cheap. If you want an RPG setting that isn't just dungeon bashing it may be worth a look.

Two bundles for the Champions superhero game - one a repeat, the other new:

Champions 6E (repeat from 2021) - the 2009 6th edition of the game with a lot of campaign and support material:

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/2026Champs6E

Image  Image

Champions Strike Force (new) - A revised and expanded collection of material based on designer Aaron Allston's long-running campaign

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/StrikeForce

Image  Image

Re Champions, in 2021 I said "very good value if you're a long-time Hero System or Champions fan who has been thinking about going over to the new rules,  or adapting new material to the old rules, or a newcomer who wants to dive in with the latest revisions.

The down side to all this is that the Hero System has never been the simplest of games - the rules can get complicated and reward optimaxing. Some activities, most notably combat, play fairly slowly. In short, there are alternatives that may be more suitable for a newcomer or someone who prefers a faster style of play.

I'll be honest, I'm not enough of an enthusiast to want to dive in and learn it all over again, since I don't think I've actually played any of these games any time this century! If you're already using another multi-genre system you might do better to look at its superhero rules first, but if you're already using the Hero System this could be a very good buy."

Strike Force is new to me, and seems to have been a massively complex campaign which covered a couple of decades in playing time and game time, involving dozens of players and thousands of hours of play. The big problem, for me, is that I suspect that a lot of this was initially shaped by the personalities of a core group of players and the capabilities of their characters - while it may have broadened out considerably, some of the decisions that shaped the campaign would probably have been very different with other participants. Having said that, it's reasonably priced and you get a lot for your money including more than 7000 player handouts. Some of it has undoubtedly influenced other material published for Champions, so if you've ever wanted to see get an idea of the background that lead to the current incarnation of the game this may be very useful. However, unless you have a printer that runs VERY cheaply I'd recommend using tablets or other digital media for as many of the handouts as possible, this stuff gets SERIOUSLY expensive!

This is a repeat offer of The Dread Thingonomicon compendium from Raging Swan Press, a single volume containing "hundreds of system-neutral lists for every GM." It's a complete 476-page compilation of all the "20 Things" lists Raging Swan has published for seven years.

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/Thing2025

Last time this was offered I said "Not really my sort of thing for multiple reasons, but it looks usable if you like that sort of thing (or these sorts of things), and pricing works out around a cent and a half per page." I don't think any of this has changed much.

This is an offer of material for the RPG The Burning Wheel by Luke Crane. It's described as "the landmark indie RPG of dynamic characters and searing choice-driven stories."

https://bundleofholding.com/presents/BurningWheel

Image  Image

While I have no problems with indie rules systems, I'm not very keen on games that ask all of the players and referee to be familiar with the rules and avoid using "house rules" or simplifying things. I'm not playing pure fantasy games any more, so haven't gone into this one in any detail, but the general consensus I have on it from friends who have played it is that it's rules heavy and fairly complex, which really isn't my style of play. The price seems reasonable for the amount of material you get, more than 1000 pages, beyond that I recommend looking at reviews before making a decision about this one. There's a reasonable video review here
