Ok, a question for those of you who listen to country music. The other day I caught part of a song on my local country station that just cracked me up. It was about the singer bringing his car into a auto shop, and the mechanic starts saying what's wrong with, it and that he could fix it up for $800. And then the mechanic mentions he's a songwriter also, and would the singer take a look at it. And the nsinger starts saying all the stuff that's wrong with it, and that he could fix it up for...$900. I wasn't able to catch th title, or the artist. Any clues?

rant, rant, rant...
It's ben awhile since i've updated, and what do I have for you fine folks? a rant about one of my sis's-in-law. grrrrrr!
Here's the situation. My wife and I have been babysitting one of her nephews off and on for most of his 14 years. This nephew has Down's, it's pretty mild, but still, it's some extra effort.

Most of this time it has been without getting any pay, cause she always has some excuse for why she can't afford it(really, she has the money, she just doesn't want to 'waste' it on childcare).

Recently the mrs found out that she qualifies as a respite care provider, because of the classes she's taken. And since the nephew qualifies for it, we could now get about $9/hr for watching him. And the SIL had the gall to say that she thinks that he needs a young male as the respite care provider, someone who could go outside and play basketball with him. She even had someone in mind, the boyfriend of her roomate's daughter. WTF!?!?!?!

We finally find a way for us to get paid for babysitting her child, without it coming out of her pocket, and she'd rather give that to some kid(he's about 20) that she's known for maybe 2 months, rather than to the people who have probably put in as much care for this child over the years as she has? If we didn't really care about this nephew, I'd seriously tell the SIL where she could go.

I bust my ass all week long to just fall short of paying all our bills, while she does nearly nothing, and then goes off and plays all the time. And she doesn't jump on the chance to give us something for all we do for her?

Oh, and this is maybe 1/10 of the situation. If you knew all the story, you'd be seriously asking us why the #&*^$& do we put up with it.

Did anyone watch tonight's Jeopardy? One of the contestants just owned the whole board and had like 3 times what the other two had combined. So, forth final Jeopardy question, he bid the following amount:1337. That confirms it, he's a geek. Of course i was the only one who laughed at that, no one else knew what was funny.

Hello boys! I'm baaaa-aaaaack!!!!!!!
Hey all! it"s been a very long time since most of you have heard(seen) from me. So first thing, yes, I am still around. I sort of retreated for a while cause I didn't really fell very sociable. I HAD a steady state position with IBM, but that ran out in Nov. and since then IBM has had a whole 2 half shifts for me, not good for paying bills. And with trying to stay in school, it's been very difficult to find other employment.
But, guess what, I found one!! It's a web design internship, pays $8.00/hr, not much but better than an unpaid internship. And there is a possiblilty of being hired on full time. Which may move me up to a $30-60 k salary, would be good!

On the home front, the mrs is doing VERY well. She has made some positive changes in herself. Since January, she has lost 75lbs. That combined with being much more active, she is feeling so much better in general. It's as if she was asleep and suddenly woke up. She's happier with herself, more alert, and just generally more HER than she has been for a long time. Also, last week she started school. She's attending the local community college for a 2 year degreee in Early Childhood Education, and be a preschool teacher. She is so excited about it. So far she loves it.

Also, Last week I stopped in to see my mother. We haven't spoken to each other for almost two years(some of you may know the story behind it). So far it's going really good. She seems really happy to see me again.

Well, I guess that's it for now. I plan on being around mmore.

The movie "Reign in Darkness" has got to be the worst vampire movie ever. It's like a movie exec got this relatively good idea for a vamp movie, then handed it over to a first quarter film school student(who was probably already on the verge of flunking out).
The acting is over done. The characters are all angry and trying to out macho each other. The story line keeps getting flimsier and flimsier. It's just completely weak.
It makes "Vampire in Brooklynn" look like "Blade".

It's been way to long since I've updated, I've just not been online much.
Christmas went well, since things have been tight financially for us lately, we got some help from some awesome people in the mrs' family. So, the kids made out like bandits.
Jaren got a new TV for his room so he can play Playstation. He WAS using my old tv from when I was a teen, but I think it's finally given up, or maybe it just wanted a rest and will fix itself after a couple of months(it's done that before). He also got a couple of Playstation games, Final Fantasy Tactics(which he played nearly non-stop since. we've had to tell him "ok, you've been playing that game for 5 hours, come out and join the family", he comes out for 5 minutes, gets bored and hides in his game again. That boy is SO like me it's freaky.). Throw in a BeyBlade and he was a happy camper.
Mandissa got a new stereo, her old one broke. She also got this beautiful large blanket, fluffy, like about 1/2" thick, big enough to cover a queen size bed, and with a picture of a horse on it. She loves cuddling up in it, that is, when she can get it way from the mrs. She also got a kit for making wire jewelry.Throw in some art stuff and a BeyBlade, and we have another happy camper.
Kayleah got a Kareoke machine. This for the girl who will sing a song just to hear the sound of her voice. She also got a Kareoke disk of Grease songs, she LOVES the song "Hopelessly Devoted". Imagine a 7 year old girl belting out that song, TOO ADOREABLE! Throw in some Barbie stuff and yet another happy camper is found.
Delvin got a little toy workbench, and a bunch of extra tools for it. Finally getting used to all the pounding noises while watching TV. He also got a policeman dressup kit, cause he loves to dress up with Kayleah. We just thought he might enjoy some boy oriented dress-up.

I got Bonita the DVD for "Chicago", she loves that movie, the music, the dancing. I was a bit bummed that that was all I was able to get her, but she loved it.
And she got me a 128MB JumpDrive. It is teh coolness. For those who don't know what that is, it's essentially a 128MB memory stick with a USB plug on the end. Plugg it into a USB port, and the computer now has a 128MB removeable drive that can then be moved to anyother computer with a USB port. It's like the Uber-SneakerNet device.
We also got some new DVDs, "Muppet Christmas Movie", "SeaBiscuit", "Last Starfighter", "X2", and a new copy of "Grease"(the one we had is all scratched up)

Oh, and it's snowing! I'm looking out the window at around 4 inches of snow. I'm think that in a bit I'll take the kids outside and help them make some snow forts.

Cool!
Neurotransmitter
You are a neurotransmitter. You believe in the
good-naturedness of man's biology and soul.
You're happy, everyone's happy, and no one will
ever take that away from you. Or else you'll
make them go insane.

The mrs and I are looking to take a vacation mid-spring, around March. So far we've looked at Reno, Las Vegas, and LA areas. If anyone has some ideas for an inexpensive but fun trip for a weekend, please let us know. We're looking for site-seeing, some relaxing, a chance to get away. And the mrs has never gone anywhere.

Ok, the mrs just climbed on top of my back, naked, so bye!!

Last weekend I helped on a big call, at one point 8 of us techs went to find somewhere to eat. First we went to the Rock Bottom, but they didn'thave room for us, so we left. As we were leaving it occured to a couple of us that we looked kinda like a herd. So it spurred the question in my mind, what do you call a group of geeks? is it a flock of geeks? or a herd? or what? What do you think?

Well, I finally got my data entry position back, so maybe I can get soem real hours. And this weekend I helped on a big call. I worked from 3PM Sat til 4:30AM Sun, came home slept till 12:00 noon, then moved out to the couch, and died for about 7 more hours. Yikes. But, it was worth it for a potential of 13.5 hours of OT.

Oh, btw, Imagemrs_1stdragon, I lustlove you, you hot babe.

Bye Johnny Cash, you may have been the Man in Black down here, but you're surely wearing white now. You're with your wife June, and brother, Jack, now. I hope you've found true happiness now.

And a farewell to John Ritter too. You've kept us in stickes for years.

I have to admit I feel a bit more for Ritter's family. This is not a slight in any way towards Johnny Cash, he has always been one of my favorite signers. But, Cash's family has had time to say their goodbyes. Ritter, however, was taken from his family suddenly, leaveing a wife of only 4 years, and a 4 year old daughter.

On the road again...
I've been pulled off of my cushy data-entry position, :(
Apparently my manager is in desperate need of techs in the field, but, she's assured me that at least for awhile there is plenty of work, I may even be able to get some overtime, that would be nifty.
So, no more chatting to the beautiful Imagemrs_1stdragon all day, or checking on how utterly bored Imagemr_dark is at work, or chatting to the beautiful Imagemrs_1stdragon all day, hehe. at least I still get to see Imagemrs_1stdragon when I get home, that's always a plus! Now, I'm gonna gohome and see what kind of trouble I can talk her into, hehe.
