AHAHAHA! I now have a Flash file with the evil evil evil EVIL bug that I keep running into. Right click on this link and select save file as to download
My task is simple. On the stage of this fla there is this little devil movie clip. Go into it and you'll see a simple motion tween that moves the devil up and down taking up 20 frames. You'll notice on frame 21 there is an empty keyframe. Open up the library and you'll see a graphic called devilSide. Drag it onto the stage onto the blank key frame. HA! RIGHT THERE! LOOK! It is not the devilSide graphic it is the devilDown graphic (it even says so in the properties bar). It is so MEAN!
I'm all into the problem solving so i tried dragon another instance of devilSide onto the stage and VOLA! it worked! yay! so then i went to delete that weird instance that was supposed to be devilSide but turned into devilDown. Do you know what happened once i deleted it? The devilSide that actually worked changed into devilDown. (evil little thing) I've tried using the swap command and i've tried messing with properties but nothing. The only way i have been able to solve it in the past is by adding the instance to a different layer (although, i find that this is only temporary as it has happened to me again on that new layer later) or starting over. I've had it happen to me countless time (ok, 4) on different computers (all with Flash MX) and i really really want to stop starting over.
