I've found answers to this question on google, but they don't seem to work for my computer.
I've got WinXP Flash MX and I'm working on your basic dynamic text changed with action script. The problem is that I'm using Verdana as the font and the dynamic text box text looks horribly rendered compared to static text at the same size. I've read you should "click character, select the such and such you're using to embed the font, and you're good to go!", but things don't work out quite as well in my case. When I select character and say "use Characters A-Z and a-z," it ends up displaying nothing at all when I play the movie. It's like it's gone or something. What the heck am I missing here?
Edit: In an even more bizare turn of events, it turns out that it was some other static text on the same layer at a different font size that was making it disappear when I would render the movie. Why did it do that? I have no idea. How did I fix it? I just made the static text be dynamic text and it all worked out. Weird.
