Hey Everyone, new to this community and i thought i'd lead with a simple query.
Anyone ever heard of, or had experience in playing a live satellite television feed (not over the web) through the flash player?

Yes, see the answer above. ANY source really does mean ANY source. As long as your OS recognizes it as a camera source, you can write/use an application (SWF file) that captures, encodes and streams that video to FCS. See the links above to get your hands on a SWF based live Flash Video encoder.
So basically, if i can get the computer to see the satellite input as a camera i can get it to play in flash. This site is talking about flash communication server, using the input to encode to flash video and send to the server for distribution, which i wouldn't need as this is a standalone app for an installation. I just need the video to be reproduced on the screen.
How would i get the OS to recognise the satellite input as a video camera? thats is the question. any thoughts?
