swf hiding behind layers

Hi - I'm a long time reader first time poster ;)

I have a problem - I need to work out a way to push my swf file to the back of a dropdown menu. I have added this code into my page: param name="wmode" value="transparent" which seems to do the trick for IE windows but in every browser on macs the dropdown menus still fall behind..

has anybody had to deal with this problem and if so could they offer me some help?
